On the topic of damaged crystals: Please make guns (and miners too I suppose) prefer damaged crystals over fresh ones so I don't have to carry a can with me to keep the fresh ones in.

Just to clarify: you want guns to prefer more damaged ones (80%) and not fresher ones (5%). Because they do give you now the option to load an used one or a new one from the stack.

It would be terrific feature, It always bothered me that I'm unable to check crystal usage levels, making it hard to check If You want to examine 20-30 crystals...

Such an obvious feature that it's insane we don't have it already.

Fully supported and +1 and also the below from this thread (I'm not the OP) One stack for damaged crystals which is still open as well.

When talking of "repairing damaged crystals" be they Mining or Weapon Systems related:

Actually, if you take OH damage into consideration:

You can repair modules in space using Nanite Repair Paste (And then you have to train skills to reduce NRP use = reduce cost = reduce demand and reduce the repair time along with a skill to reduce the OH damage taken when OH'ing)
You can repair modules in station using Repair Services for a cost.
You can fully repair an offlined and unusable module by paying the full market price in station using Repair Services to save having to travel to a "Trade Hub" to pick up new ones.

Why not have this ability for all Crystals if it applies to modules? Yes, yes I hear the "economics this, manufacturing that" but to counter that why do we have the ability to repair OH damaged modules? Why not just make them non-repairable and increase the market demand? The reason is because sometimes you just can't get to the damn market\you're stuck in a WH or somewhere you can't get out of and Nanite Repair Paste was invented for this reason so why not extend it to Crystals.

People are still going to buy them due to losses burning them out in combat etc etc so the impact to manufacturing\resource harvesting would be minimal I think.

Things to think about and by no means consider the above a flame comment or personal, it's only my opinion.

I rarely mine anymore, but when I did better damage information would've been nice indeed.

If you show item details on the individual crystal, the current damage is listed there.

Now... that would be very nice but would decrease the costs by a lot and I'm not sure "they" (CCP) want that :)

What I would like to see for sure is that used crystals that were used at the same time (and have the same damage) could be stacked so u don't mix them with fresh undamaged crystals. Also "fresh" crystals should not be displayed on ammo change window if there is still unused ammo of that type in cargo bay.

Whatever u do just make sure that u don't mix used crystals whit unused crystals (like when u select crystals the ones with most damage are automaticly selected or whaterver...)

Only if they are loaded in weapons/mining lasers while you are in space. Then they show that info even when you dock. But if the alredy used crystals are in cargohold while you are in station, that info is no longer available. That's why I posted this proposal and by the support it has (and also the older locked and abandoned threads about this) I hope this gets implemented soon.

I answered that in the thread you posted. Thanks for pointing it out Maximus :)

In the same vein, I don't believe there is way to determine the damage on a RAM without going through the repair menu.

+1 to the idea of being able to see damage info on items in cargo hold / item hangar.

Also +1 to the idea of being able to use nanite repair paste (or some other CCP invented mechanic) to repair damaged crystals.

I'm right behind you

At which point T1 crystals become totally redundant, why use T1 when with just a little bit more initial isk (would be even less as the market plummets when they no longer get used up) and without additional skills you can get some pirate faction crystals for significantly increased dps.

This is a terrible thread. As such, it's locked. - CCP Falcon

As it is now you can´t even see it if you fit them in the fitting window. You have to do it in space it´s really annoying.
