API Key confusion

This seems to be a little out-dated, mixing terms from the older system and the newer system.

http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/EVE_API_EVE_Character_Info

My problem is with the private and public info which I'm assuming is equivalent to full and limited keys. When someone requests a key with Private Info -> CharacterInfo, this wiki article tells me they have access to my account balance. But then there is the http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/EVE_API_Character_Account_Balance as well so I just don't know.

Can someone please clarify?

Cheers,

-Ba'al

Generally speaking, any Corp that's asking for your full API is not a Corp worth joining.

Null-Sec needs to HTFU and stop crying to CCP. If null-sec wants PvP, they need to stop being carebears and start fighting eachother - after years of bot-mining, they have the ships!

Yes, the CharacterInfo and AccountBalance both have your balance (it's also in CharacterSheet and possibly a few other places).

The CharacterInfo page will show them:
Character ID
Character Name
Race
Bloodline
Account Balance
Skill Points (total quantity, not the skills themselves)
Ship Name (the name of the ship you're currently in)
Ship Type ID (the ID number for the ship hull you're in)
Ship Type Name (the english name for the type of hull you're in)
Corp ID (the ID number of your current corp)
Corp Name (the english name of your current corp)
Corp Date (the date you joined your current corp)
Alliance ID/Name/Date (same as the corp fields)
Last Known Location (system you were in the last time the API updated)
Security Status
Employment History

Also, public and private info aren't at all linked to full and limited APIs in the old system, they're just names for groups of settings.

If you really want a good listing of what info is available in the different APIs and which ones were in the limited/full APIs, check out this page, it's much better than the CCP info IMO.
