Launcher problem

Hi, when I open the launcher I get this 'error':

Worked fine in the morning, before and after DT. Any idea why it happens?

PS: internet works fine, played a DOTA2 game a few minutes ago with no issues

Also unable to launch the game as of this morning.

Ran repair, reran the launcher. Still stuck at 'installing files' (as I was before I ran the repair tool).

I run eve as admin off my server. Has worked for months. Today it won't get off the 'installing files'. The status bar is at 99.9% completed, then stops. Have tried it on the two computers I run EVE on - same result.

I have a similar problem, I was unable to get past "installing files" and now the launcher doesn't even appear to load. I'm currently in-game via the exefile in /BIN, but this seems like something that needs fixing.

Same issue but I found that my launcher icon is linking to D:\Windows\games\EVE\launcher\appdata\EVE_Online_Launcher-2.1.571330.win32

Notice, this is not my normal launcher. If I manually go to my install location I get an error message. I can submit this to support but there is identifiable info and the forums complain about HTML code.

I'm not using steam and my internet connection is fine (Virus software disabled and ran EVE in admin mode). Eve Safemode creates a similar error.

FIX:

I ran the eve console launcher which I found in [eve install directory]\launcher\ and it successfully ran an update. The launcher works like normal and client finished updating. I can't remember what the console launcher file was but it was something like console_launcher.exe in the directory above. It gets removed once everything updates.

same here. since 22nd sep DT

i tried repair, re-install game; turn off and on again; all not working. still no reply for ticket from ccp.

Same again looks like another fresh install is the only resolution for 8th time in this last few weeks. sad face.

i had this problem too, it was not allowing me to patch it either, i reinstalled it and its working again now.

If you are using a shortcut to start the launcher (or pinned it to the taskbar), make sure it's not linking to the launcher.exe that is inside a versioned folder. You will want to link to either [eve folder]\eve.exe or [eve folder]\launcher\launcher.exe. NOT to [eve folder]\launcher\appdata\EVE_Online_Launcher-2\launcher.exe
