Congratulations to the Federal Senate for discovering that there is racism

The Senate's report seems to fall in line with my personal expectations; that institutional discrimination is relatively low due to constitutional measures that prevent it, but this will not be enough to discourage the less savoury side of human nature showing itself. Incidents of discrimination against individuals of all ethnic or planetary backgrounds is not surprising; if you're a pale-skinned Caldari going to a primarily Brutor city, you are going to stand out. This is as likely to happen in the Federation as anywhere else in New Eden.

All the same, it is not the responsibility of some interstellar legislature to try and change human nature for the better. That onus is on ourselves as individuals, as well as our educators and mentors. An educated society is blind to ethnicity, and by striving to achieve that in Elusenia, we hope to achieve that across the wider Gallente sphere.

So now I present the question, is it a responsibility of capsuleers, the immortal powerful figures of this generation's ascended, to clean up and set the standard of human nature?

Yes or no, the alternative as well as the prerequisite of redefining human nature is to shoulder the present day crimes of it. For to manipulate anyone is first understand how they're manipulated today by the present day forces. If you can relate, you can impose an agenda:

The Amarr do this through companionship with the divine.
The Angels do this through camaraderie of the fallen.
The Caldari do this through pride of the State.
The Covenant do this through companionship in the dark side of the divine.
The Gallente do this through equality in freedom.
The Guristas do this through pride in reputation.
The (true) Minmatar do this through camaraderie of their savage nature (wasn't always this way).
The Sansha do this through the appeal of escaping reality.
The Serpentis do this through the companionship of power within development and wealth.

... find how someone thinks and you can manipulate every aspect of their predictable ways.

Racism is but another aspect in the arsenal; fear the Gallentean who sympathizes and connects with the Caldari, or the slave who sympathizes and connects with the slaver, for they could easily be working within the very ways we condemn to accomplish agendas of which may contain no limits.

More Character Customization :: Especially compared to what we had in 2003...

In other news, scientist are trying to determine if rain can cause people to get wet.

Watch_ Fred Fred Frederation_ and stop cryptozoologist! Fight against the brutal genocide of fictional creatures across New Eden! Is that a metaphor? Probably not, but the fru-fru- people will sure love it!

Even if it isn't bullshit I suspect this kind of self-congratulatory exercise isn't going to help matters any.

I mean the Senate report, to be clear, not this thread necessarily.

I kill hundreds of people every day, you want I should give a lecture at Caille University about issues with race?

While I agree with you Capsuleer Inhonores I don't think its for us to change the darker aspects of human nature, when all too often we profit from them the most.

Correction: darker aspects of gallentean nature.
And I agree, you can't change gallenteans.

That's why we have to destroy the Federation and quarantine all gallentean scum so their filth won't escape their inhabited planets.

Honored are the dead, for their legacy guides us.

I guess the Senate has the best of intentions here, but I'm just waiting for the effort to combat racism that will inevitably take the perspective of privilege and become excluding to racified Gallenteans the moment one tries to raise any criticism.
