I Express my thanks to all who wrote in this topic gratitude and sincere respect, thank you. I very much hope that the CCP will take our wishes into account and make the translation taking into account not only the opinion of human translation creates, and the opinion of those for whom it is done.

I don't care about translation at all.
Russian client is terrible. My English is terrible too, but I understand original client better then translated. So I just don't use Russian translation. And I don't care how will play people using Russian client - this is their wrong choice :)

А по поводу поста вше у меня есть только одна недоумевающая мысль: может быть вы хотите сделать перевод в стилистике русского языка, присущего Достоевскому и Толстому? Как веселый перл на пару дней сгодится посмеяться :)

As a native russian speaker I can confirm that even when russian localization has always had quite poor translation quality recent changes in Odyssey 1.1 are simply ridiculous. Using long phases for things which can perfectly be translated in one word or using professional jargonisms which most people never even heard really look like attempt to sabotage translation or intentional overcomplication for the sake of getting higher payments for longer texts.

I support the Russians on this.

Ok. You translate very short. This Game about military ship and "SciFi" cosmos and translate need look like as military science fiction nor about "SciFi" cosmos. You translate is very simplified and not look as "SciFi".

At one point CCP already did pretty mych the same thing they are doing now - they called for complete game translation. This didn't fly well because it started to split the community. On one side, there were vets who used English-based slang. On the other - newcomers who were in the process of creating their own, based off Russian this time. Eventually the idea was scrapped... But suddenly it came back, apparenly. I wouldn't know because I switched to English client long ago.

Then something happened (perhaps CCP discovered that significant part of Russian gaming community CBA to learn languages) and so it was decided that it's better to get people to pay for a few months past trial than to lose most of local newbros during said trial due to people having issues with translating words like "navigation", "laser" or "Condor", apparently.

Sure, why not. Those who can't adapt to existing slang to operate within existing groups of players can at least form new communities. All the better than seeing them going away. Or at least that seems to be the plan.

Eh... I don't really know what to say. You can either use English client or try to adapt to Russian one in order to be capable of translating EVE language into "newbrospeak" and back. Time for translator career to shine, eh?

On a side note, yes, russian client is immersive as heck, much more so than english one. But is it really worth it?

P.S. It's too late here and I CBA to translate this stuff into Russian. Sorry, but I'm lazy.

EDIT: I decided to add, just in case it wasn't said already, that community deem russian client to be poorly transated not because it's actually terrible, but because russian EVE player talks pretty much the same slang many other EVE players do. That means using a lot of butchered initially-english words in what is supposed to be russian sentences. Surely you can imagine how this live and actual (for all intends and purposes) language differs from proper russian. But client don't use this "language", one that is actually in use by actual players. Instead, it tries to be immersive, colourful, verbose, Russian. I'm pretty sure that russian vets would be more happy with client being translated into "EVE-lingo-in-cyrillic", but we know it won't happen...
