I don't think you're really wrong on any of your points (though I still would want a DC2), my post was just to show a known-working fit. It works well for me, especially since I can't stand grinding more than a couple missions now and then, but it was just to give the guy a starting point to work off of. Thanks for the advice though.


I don't think you are wrong either. Blink In fact I started missioning with a DCU as well.

In general it's best to overtank at the the start and later drop tank for DPS once you know the missions and have a feeling what's getting thrown at you. So don't take it as criticism but rather as fine-tuning to improve ISK/hour, which is what missions are about after all.



This. Damage Control is great for missions when you're starting out, especially for low skills (t1 guns count as low skills for this, really). Change it out when you feel you don't need it anymore.

this is pretty much what I use... 4 hardeners based on damage type.... I swapped the xl sb for a faction one, but only because I had the LP. And speaking of LP, if you are doing a lot of lvl 4's the LP you get can be used to get your faction ammo. I do swap to the 800's though, and that fit also works well. But yeah, the Mael is a beast. Plan on using it until I finally get my Vargur

Against Guristas, or serpentis, it's over 100k ehp, with 1000DPS in tank, doing around 420dps without drones. (level 5 skills. I'm not that good Blink) cap stable without the boost, 1 minute 45 with it on full blast.
Target out to 93km, with an optimal of 30, and a falloff of 71. Tracking isn't great, but at that range it's a bit hard to get an angular speed up above the tracking.

Before the projectile buff, I used to use 1400mms, but after that the 1200mms were simply better. As the guy says, however, if you do use, arties, then you needn AB so you can do some kiting, as there are two or three missions (serpentis, the assault, I think) that throw out pretty insane dps at very long range (the NPCs pretend that rails were buffed a long time ago).

In general, however, for Angel missions, T2 AC 800s with Barrage are the way to go, and you can just sit there and pop them as they come to you.
