UI Backup Idea

I was referred to the forum's after a talk with a GM about an unrelated bug that I mistakenly opened a petition with.
What I've noticed with all these little issues I've found is that you need to clear your cache to help resolve it. I know this can be done through the client settings menu, but can also be done out-of-game.

The out-of-game method not only clears the cache but also the UI and various other smaller things. What I'd like to see is a way to backup your UI in case this needs to happen, or for some reason your HDD fails or whatever. I would suggest to save it on the server-side, but because this is heavily dependant on screen resolution, that would be unfeasible.

I know if I were to lose my UI settings I'd probably cry as it took me the better part of 2 hours to configure, and it's still going, with minor tweaks. I'm sure there are others in this same boat.

We already have a way to backup the Overview, so why not the rest of the UI, which affects everything and everyone; station traders for example wouldn't have much of a need for a heavily modified overview, whereas they would still need to use the interface [obviously].

I searched for other UI backup-related topics, but it seems there aren't any!

What are your thoughts?

Number 1 rule with computers: Backup!

That being said these used to be stored server-side but to decrease loading times they were moved some years ago to client side. Copy the cache and settings folders if you don't do a full back up and you'll never lose them again.
