His failed invasion of Federation space a few years ago:

I don't recall there being any definitive PF explanations for this event. While I'm sure this is extremely low on the PF to-do list, inquiring minds want to know!

1. Did his oft rumored Gallente lover spurn him and did he derp his House Fleet to prove a point?

2. Taking advantage of Jamly's new to power to try and grab a piece of space from the Federation?

3. Jamyl being the omnipotent psychic superhero we all love, did she subtly encourage these shenanigans to have the excuse to seize Kador's space assets?

Gallente-paid mercenaries intruded onto Kador property, looking for former Gallente Navy Admiral Anvent Eturrer, who had taken refuge in Kador lands, after his dealings with the Broker that facilitated Tibus Heth's invasion of Caldari Prime.

Uriam Kador was outraged by this, and somewhat foolishly sent his fleet to convey the message that sending assassins into his realm would not be tolerated.

Federation Navy counter-action, led to a Black Eagles snatch squad grabbing Admiral Eturrer, and led to his eventual "trial" and public execution.

It's what seems to have been the chain of events. On the surface anyway.

There's a couple unresolved questions, such as the Imperial Navy not doing anything much to respond to the Federation Navy counter-action. We also do not know why Uriam Kador was so outraged.

The Empress/Naval High Command appear to have known a lot about what the Gallente intrusion's aims were. They seemed to be caught off-guard by Kador's sudden invasion of Gallente space, yet, by the time the Gallente raid Kador space, they seem to know that the Federation are only going to to a snatch raid, not a significant campaign.

Possibly it is the Empress consolidating power, and weakening the Kador Family's position for a few decades.
