Agreed. But (putting on tinfoil cap) what if the hacking minigame is merely a placeholder? We know that as recently as last year CCP was working on avatar gameplay for exploration sites (see the Team Avatar thread). Doesn't it seem more likely that the avatar gameplay described by CCP Bayesian simply wasn't ready for Odyssey than the odd hacking minigame was the centerpiece of their 2013 expansion?

Maybe I'm just projecting my own desire for avatar exploration sites / walking in stations in the Winter Expansion.

Winter is months away yet, and it's only the announcement of the vague details of the content. Most people in this forum care about the juicy little details, not the general outline as much.

At the latest it will be launched at December 4, which gives CCP just enough time to bug fix what needs to be bug fixed before CCP staff en mass goes on holiday.

So that's, uhm... 84 days left, skip some weekends and you're left with something like 63 days.
That ain't much time to do big things.
