I've seen so much weird anime and crap from Japan in general that I watched that and just sorta went "yep, that looks about right." In fact, I daresay that's extremely tame.

You wanna see weird? I can do weird.

Koe de Oshigoto is quite... "innocent"... kinda... sotra...
Narutaru (not Naruto) is balls to the wall sick. you see first episode "oh hey seems like your run-of-the-mill magical girl show" you come back to the second episode and people start dying in quite gruesome and graphical ways.
Monogatari series is pretty much one innuendo after another.

Gantz and Elfen Lied is mindrape level, as is Madoka

all in all, if them japanese aren't doing romantic, comedy, or action (TTGL FIGHT THA POWA!), they do their best in creating mindrape masterpieces, of the I have no mouth, and I must scream kind.

Yeah Gantz and Elfen Lied are definitely up there on the mindrape meter. Madoka...I was not a fan of at all.Sure, it has some "surprises," but the writing didn't do any of it any favors from my perspective. I felt like certain moments were telegraphed miles away and none of the characters were developed nearly enough to bond with them on any meaningful level. I've always felt it was somewhat overrated. That's just me though.
