No KM credit for initial-tackler/gate-pusher?

Next time don't kill him so quickly. Then your initial tackler will be able to jump through and get in on the KM.

While this has really always been like this and has technical explanation it's not ok.

EVE is supposed to be a single shard universe, and artificially dividing engagements based on system just goes against the whole idea.

Also note that while the example case is in fact one single fight, a killmail may contain participants from completely different engagements as long as damage is taken in the same system and inside the timeframe (15min?).

Killmail only credits Player 'B'? WTF?

1) When did this change happen?
2) Bug? Obviously Person A should be on the killmail...

No it is not a bug. It has been in the game for the last 5 years and change that I have been playing. Only the folks in the system where the target dies get on the KM. There are a few exceptions to this. If you die in the process (even if podded) you get on the Km generally. If you disconnect from Eve during the fight you sometimes show on the KM anyway.

So yeah, being tackler who pushes the target to the gang is often a thankless job. It takes a team player to be the scout in gang PVP. One who doesnt mind missing the glory of being on the KM once in a while. In the end, however, it often evens out. A scout who tackles something nice and shiny ratting will many times make it on kill mails that others in the fleet miss out on because you shoot/tackle the target first and they dont make it because the target dies before all members of the gang arrive and begin shooting.

It actually has nothing to do with a session change or your stuff being "cleared off" the killmail. It is simple, a killmail is a report of everything that happened in the solar system that they died in. If they change systems at 1% structure and get one shot by a Ibis, that Ibis will be the only one on the killmail, because he was the only person who engaged him in the system that the killmail was generated in.

I will go slowly.

It...shouldn't....work....this....way.

I don't care about 'session change', solar flares, 'current system' or if the easter bunny's farts smell of carrots or not -- the existing behavior is fail and should be fixed because you should not be stripped from a KM purely because the target jumped gate.

It really is this simple, if you directly contributed to the death of a ship, you should appear on the KM. Period.

Now I can buy into stripping people off past the 15 minute mark (or some other value), but NOT by the target simply jumping gate alone.

Thank you, and goodnight. I return you to your red-herring technical rationalizations fapping.
