I see Amerikkka spelled like this all the time. I know it to be a derogatory term though so I abstain from doing it. Moslem is the equivalent.

Hmm haven't seen that in the states yet.. we just get stuck be Muricans..

I think I will create a similar post next July 22nd to remember another terrorist bombing that killed 91 people from many nations. Then sit back and see how many people clue in on what that was, or why it is important.

I'll be sure to remind you that you're ignoring other people who died tragically.

Precisely.

So why is this day so different than other days?

Yeah it was bad. Pointless religious rage from pointless religious people. Innocent people died and I feel sorry for everyone involved.
Was this the only time this kind of thing has happened? No. It was just the only time this has happened in America.

I don't see these threads about the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, for example.

**** happens, just let it go already. The rest of the world has.

There's also 7 July 2005 when suicide bombers killed 52 people and injured 700 more in London.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Belive me, Americans want to turn their back on the rest of the worlds as bad as everyone wants them to. We are sick of helping you. We are sick of the complaining and direspect. We do not want to go to Syria. We don't care what happens to them. We are sick of bailing everyone out. No other countries really want to stick up for eachother so we end up getting stuck with it. But I still remember my people who died 9/11 and wanted to show them respect.

You know, when reading this post all I was hearing in my head was the "Murrica, F*CK YEAH" song from Team America : World Police.

The sad thing is, you are being serious.

Cry me a river. You might be sick of it, but your government loves it, the fat cats that get rich by going to war love it. That's why america will never stop being the world police, because they love spending tax dollars to buy new weapons of war. And once they've leveled a country they hoover up the contracts to rebuild it, and the local fatcats are okay with it but everyone that is poor benefits nothing while they bear the emotional burden and terrors of war. War on terrorism is largely bullshit fed to the people. They could've assassinated Osama within hours after 9/11 but didn't, because war is good for business.

And yeah, people die, I want to show them respect too. But I do it my own way, lighting a candle and a moment of silence. I don't go posting threads about every anniversary of the Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami(est. casualties 10 000 - 15 000), 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami (est. casualties 200 000+ ) or World War II (est. casualties 72 million, more than half of them civilians). And I don't want to remind everyone in the world that 852 died when Estonia sank off the coast of Finland. Because realistically, most of the world doesn't care, because it happened 10 000 miles away from them. Actually considering how many people have died in various disasters since 2001, WTC gets really disproportionate amount of attention even 12 years later, as I don't recall hearing much about the 2004 tsunami even though it is possibly the worst natural disaster in the past 150 years.

Now don't get me wrong, I do feel for the friends and family of 9/11 victims. But I really don't want to hear how it is the worst thing that has ever happened every damn year ad nauseum.
Sorry for any hurt feelings, but give this a rest already.

Been using moslem since I was a kid and that's how all the text books spelled it. Indeed I never realized why it had changed but since already 2 people have mentioned it here I did some research.

This site here makes interesting reading, http://hnn.us/article/524

"A Muslim in Arabic means"one who gives himself to God," and is by definition, someone who adheres to Islam. By contrast, a Moslem in Arabic means"one who is evil and unjust" when the word is pronounced, as it is in English, Mozlem with a z"

Now I am even more convinced that Moslem is the correct word for them and will keep using it till the politically correct crowd go blue in the face.

Moslem is about as outdated as Mussulman, it's the arabic equivalent to the N word, and probably just as offensive.

Good, that's why I'll use it. Also, in my language (im not American) moslems are indeed called Mussulman. So my language must be highly offensive to them .. rofl.
This is my signature. There are many others like it, but this one is mine.  Without me, my signature is useless. Without my signature, I am useless

You seem very self entitled. I heard a lot of the word "I" in there. I give you all a challenge. Walk up to an american veteran and tell him his service meant nothing and that his country is terrible. Then after that count how many teeth you have.

Syria doesn't have oil reserves. Well, not like other areas in the Middle East. But they are a long term obstacle to Zionist dominance in the region. But that's another discussion.
They were ranked 33rd in the world oil production at over 400k barrels/day. It's about 1/6 of the production of Iraq.

That's funny, I don't recall the OP demanding anything. He asked for a moment of your time to remember those who died on this day.

I guess in your own way, you've given that moment. Thanks.

If you'd care to share your tragedies, I'll be glad to ignore them as blatantly as I can.
Like you could ignore global tragedies any less.
