Why l always get these news late? I learned of Asimov's death 2 days later, and Arthur C. Clarke kept living in my mind for no less than 4 days. Now Frederik Pohl turns to be gone since september 2 and I just accidentally stumbled on the new at Wikipedia...

Anyway! Fare well, Mr. Pohl, one of the last, if not the last (won't check the Wikipedia, sorry), of the Golden Age authors. Cool

*sad Cry

He was a great writer and sorry to see him go. His books really brought me into the sci-fi genre and I still pick up his books today to read.

He lived 5 minutes from me and I was fortunate enough to see him once in a nearby store. Unfortunately, the circumstances did not allow me to talk with him but was memorable non the less.

A lot of the dreamers of sci fi have been lost lately.

Very sad.

What a great film "Gateway" would have been.

Instead we have a Hollywood still recycling post-apocalyptic scenarios and zombie stories, both of which were hoary concepts even 60 years ago.

Now, that's sad.
