No that's not what it means. It means that below a certain income/loss ratio, losses cease to have meaning.

Definitely a valid concept, but one would hope the numbers would be a little better in reality. If a miner is only making 5 million in profit from the act of buying and fitting a retriever, mining for hours in it, losing it, and buying and fitting their next retriever . . . .

I mean ratting in nullsec makes 5 million in the time it takes to buy and fit the new Retriever alone. No wonder some miners get so collicky when you gank them if they're doing all that to clear 5 million isk . . .
Truthfully, they are. In my case, anyway. My mining alt was last hit for a successful gank in March of last year. Many many hundreds of millions of ISK have flowed through his account since that time.

On the other hand, I've nuked some remarkably silly barges, so I wasn't going to make any grand assumptions; just picked numbers that while low, were supportable given what I know.

And yeah, making only 5M ISK per gank would make me rather collicky, too. Lol

I don't really see the problem. If you don't want to be ganked you fly a procurer or a skiff.

If you want a little more risk for yield you get a retriever or a mackinaw.

If you want to say ask for the suprise space sex... Then you fly covetor or a hulk.

To be fair, a friend of mine did gank a skiff to say it could be done, but 99% of his kills are untanked retrievers.

If I tell him there are a bunch of skiffs or procurers in a belt I am spying on, he's not really interested.

But if I spy a retriever with full on yield, then he'll be there in 5 minutes.

If he succeeded, then why wasn't he boasting of his success, as he usually does so well. No he was just pissed off and logged out.
James315 is just a pathological egomaniac, nothing more. He would feel powerful with his (supposedly) risk free gank strategy, he wants attention on him like a kid. As the op pointed out, he would never accept any duels, even after taunting people into asking a duel. No balls at all. Avoiding real PvP by ganking miners who cannot fight back - that's about all what he can do.

I don't call it anything. By definition it's pvp (player vs player).

Unless, that is, you are trying to imply that killing bots and afk players counts as pve?

I bet you buy/sell stuff off the market, that upsets other people and interferes with their gameplay.

I bet you mine in belts with other miners, your mining rocks they can't, your interfering with their gameplay.

I worry about how other people play the game because everything you do in this game effects how other people play.

From AFK cloakers to Jita spammers to Alliance FC's to people who want to mine by themselves everything is done to effect someone elses game play.

Worrying about how others play the game can be summed up in 3 words.

Well when you shoot at targets that don't shoot back... You are avoiding real combat and to some would mean you are more risk adverse than others who shoot at targets who can possibly kill them. I suppose people can call that cowardly which I suppose it is if you think about it.

Oh and a mix of 2 hob IIs and 3 ec-300s work VERY VERY well.

If I used a cheap ass vexor to gank using nothing but t1 sentry drones.... would that be fair?

I mean, I'd be using the same actions a miner could use, except I wouldn't have mining lasers.

Well to be fair its like ganking frigs on a gate with smart bomb. Sure its fun, but its not going to win you any e-honor.

Let's put it this way, people who kill others with unfair advantage have no e-honor and usually mock the others when they had a 20 on 1 battle by saying "gf".

I mean there is nothing wrong with blobbing or using a ship that can totally blow away anyone in your path with an unfair advantage, but let's be honest and say you aren't really being fair.

And not being fair is half the battle.

If you really want a big e-peen and e-honor, be like Adolf and kill battlecruisers with a condor in low sec which I have to say is a pretty awesome feat. To be fair it was mostly awoxing in an FW alliance, but still if you kill a BC in a frigate than you are pretty high on the totem pole in the PVP world.
