modules in the Fitting window do not show the orange label for TI or TII

Something that I just realized, when I add modules in the Fitting window, they do not show whether they are TI or TII. In the Inventory and Cargo, etc. all look good, but once I slap them on a ship I can see the icon but not the orange lever indicator - I have to hover the cursor over each icon to verify its Tech level.

Is that a normal setting?

I just hopped on to check, and it appears that it is in fact normal. I checked a few of my ships, just to make sure and with/without charges in the turrets/bays.
