I'll just keep this short and to the point.

Searched the web, all I found where strange/fail fits of t2 tengus and really expensive ones. So, I decided to simply ask here and hope for some help.

I've never ran missions before and I plan to read some survival tips for them, but for now I can barely afford a tengu with t2 mods so I want to know 2 things;

- can lv4s be done with "relative" safety with t2 mods
- can I please have a fitting posted here

My skills are PERFECT (you know what I mean..), so feel free to post without fear of skill failure.

And yeah, I know there are a million threads like this, but I wasn't able to find them, sorry.

Level IV missions can indeed be run effectively by a simple T2 fit tengu, but it gets easier as you spend more money on the fit.

[Tengu, baseline]
Ballistic Control System II
Ballistic Control System II
Ballistic Control System II
Ballistic Control System II

Invulnerability Field II
Photon Scattering Field II
Republic Fleet 10MN Afterburner
Domination Shield Boost Amplifier
Gistii B-Type Small Shield Booster

Heavy Missile Launcher II, Thunderbolt Heavy Missile
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Thunderbolt Heavy Missile

Medium Warhead Flare Catalyst II
Medium Warhead Rigor Catalyst II
Medium Warhead Rigor Catalyst II

Tengu Defensive - Amplification Node
Tengu Electronics - Dissolution Sequencer
Tengu Propulsion - Fuel Catalyst
Tengu Offensive - Accelerated Ejection Bay
Tengu Engineering - Augmented Capacitor Reservoir

Using 3 missile rigs requires an implant to get it to fit, or use a single CN BCU and that should also let it fit. The faction items listed are all cheaper than a subsystem each. If you really want cheap, try this:

[Tengu, Tengu - PvE]
Ballistic Control System II
Ballistic Control System II
Ballistic Control System II
Ballistic Control System II

Invulnerability Field II
Photon Scattering Field II
10MN Afterburner II
Shield Boost Amplifier II
Small Shield Booster II
Small Shield Booster II

Heavy Missile Launcher II, Thunderbolt Heavy Missile
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Thunderbolt Heavy Missile
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Thunderbolt Heavy Missile
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Thunderbolt Heavy Missile
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Thunderbolt Heavy Missile
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Thunderbolt Heavy Missile

Medium Core Defence Capacitor Safeguard I
Medium Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I
Medium Anti-Explosive Screen Reinforcer I

Tengu Defensive - Amplification Node
Tengu Electronics - Dissolution Sequencer
Tengu Propulsion - Fuel Catalyst
Tengu Offensive - Accelerated Ejection Bay
Tengu Engineering - Augmented Capacitor Reservoir

It's a lot less cap stable, but it's cheaper. Honestly though, when you are spending 200m on the hull and 60-85m per subsystem, another <120m on 2 small gistii boosters and a faction amp is well worth it. I am pretty sure the Rep Fleet AB is also cheap, though I can't remember offhand.

On the other hand, if you have never run missions before, you may be better off using a T2 fitted HAC in level 2-3s for a 250m risk vs a 650-750m tengu in level 4s as your learning point on missions. It doesn't take much to **** up when you are learning missions. A Cerberus does fine, and as you can fly a tengu then you have the skills for a cerb.

That's actually something I'll have to do anyway, because I need to grind status for lv4, so I'll breeze through some 3s with it. I don't mind spending ISK on the ship and I do know it's well worth it,but unless you give me 100m more it wont happen. The budge it 550m at maximum so yeah...

^ This is a good start. Your first concern should be that tank is good enough to hold long enough for your dps to thin the ranks, then I would consider swapping the bcs' with caldari varients, if not for cpu concerns then because of the extra dps they offer. And, yes, the RF Ab's should still be cheap enough to field (65mil or so). So long as your fit and ship cost at most a little over a billion, you shouldn't have many looking in your direction for ganking. I would normally recommend a painter with a HML fit, but that's really up to you (Rigors honestly do enough on their own for me). I've been flying a 1.45bil fit for over a year now and have seen two people scan me down, but only to ninja salvage. Really, the AB, shield booster, and bcu's should be the only things you should up to faction/complex, everything else should be T2.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

If you've never ran missions and can hardly afford the use the uninsurable ship, why not fly something cheaper and more newb friendly?

Not knowing what you're doing and flying a ship you can't replace in missions by yourself is a disaster waiting to happen.

Excuse me, but what the f*ck are you desu?

Best advice in this thread.

Jump in a Drake, roll L3s in it, then do L4s in it because hey, Drake passive tank is powerful enough for L4s. You can graduate to a Raven, CNR or Tengu from there. Or you can use a proper weapon system like projectiles and eventually fly a Machariel or Vargur depending on taste (and patience for training time).

Like other posters have said, fly a Drake for L3s until you can afford to fly something like this, and the know-how to use it properly:

Hardeners/utility slots to taste, of course.
