Last night I picked up a low power transmission repeating the follow song on an often ignored archaic Ultra High Frequency band.

*cue old dramatic music*

Oh hail the messiah Mittani Mittani, no leader more famous than Tibus Heth. Our saviour our saviour Mittani Mittani, oh come and praise the one, give him your money and your guns. The one who has lead us from rages to fame.

The source was tracked to a transceiver array located in deep space. The array was equipped to simulcast across the EM band from UHF to EHF.*

*revised after a refresher on the difference between ground, satellite and faster than light communications.*

I think it's safe to say that the reason this broadcast finds itself so ignored, is not counted amongst the unexplainable mysteries of New Eden.

And that's another thing. "Subspace band"? "Low-power FTL transmitter?"

Did you both fail basic communications theory in training or something? Fluid routers don't transmit or broadcast like a radio mast or a wireless network node. They work through synchronizing the quantum states of entangled helium atoms, an effect with no propagation time or medium to intercept.

The "local band" is just the channel you're assigned to by the CRC when they detect that you're closer to a particular star than any other.

There's no such thing as a "low power FTL transmitter". If you're picking up a signal then that means either that it came from somebody on the Empyrean comms network via the CRC, or it was on an EM band. Go back and brush up on your technical information.

Yes you are correct. There was some confusion about the means of transmission. I seem to have misunderstood the communications officer. What he had actually said was the signal type couldn't have been FTL in nature.

Thanks Mr. Stitcher for pointing this out. I have modified the original report and updated it to accurately reflect what had actually happened.

Eheh. I knew that little message would ping off someone. But really? What's the deal with the description of that? Jeeze..
