Can't kill the core (exploration)

I was exploring a few minutes ago when i suddenly came across a good loot for a data site. I barely managed to get to the core, with perfect amount of health to kill it. When I was one hit away from a finish, it suddenly wouldn't let me hit it. I have a screenshot, but I know that isn't sufficient evidence. Either way, my client is currently open and everything is working normally, except that core kill. I can fly around etc, but I cannot kill this core for my loot.

Help?

I am not sure this is a bug.

So far I have noticed that sometimes the System core has white color and sometimes yellow color. I have not found any reason for this colour coding so far so I am not sure about its meaning.

I've had this happen to me today. It appears that double clicking on the core can break the mini-game. After the double click no more clicks will be registered in the mini-game, no attacks, no uncovering nodes. The only solution I found was to close the window, failing the attempt, and to try again.
