Odd radio chat noises?

Is there any way to turn off that static alien noise you hear in the backround sounds like people communicating but all mixed up and what not. I know moving my camera away solves some of the issue but other then literally muting the master volume ive found no way to turn it off.

Certain ship types' ambience sounds are annoying as f**k. Please allow Us to TURN. IT. OFF.
