No, right now you are choosing to be offended by it. The word itself is no more offensive than any other that might describe the same behavior. i am not. i am telling you that a good number of people will be hurt by the word's use. hurtful is the only thing the word is in the modern language. it is therefore not ok to use it.


It's perfectly okay to use in its proper context.

Ignorant people may have classified you as spastic, but that doesn't make it so. You are only spastic if you are being spastic, in which case it is merely a description of your current behavior, and not a reflection on your being.

there is no proper context. no professional uses the word anymore. the medical community now uses other terms. they started using other words because people started using this word as a derogotary word.

I don't know what you edited, but I'm just being straight with you. More than likely, if someone ever described you as spastic, they were deliberately misusing the word to be hurtful. That doesn't make them right, and it doesn't make it okay. But it also doesn't mean that the word itself should be automatically hurtful just because some ignorant ass tried to use it that way.
