The research attained supposedly can help doctors in the future battle schizophrenia, depression, and autism. I don't the most of the mumbo jumbo that they talk about but it deals with Stem cells taking a nutrient bath and then being placed in a scaffold for a trip on the tilt-a-whirl.

The result was a miniature brain, about 4 mm in size, with multiple components formed like the cerebral cortex, retina, and choroid plexus (whatever that is). And while they say that there is activity the brain is still unable to formulate an independent thought of its own.

Rumor has it that it immediately started posting in GD.

They already made a whole bunch of them and have secretly been testing them out on poasters in GD.

Mostly I'm curious as too how long it will be before we all have our own personal cylons. I'll take good care of mine so she and her kind will spare me when they destroy most of humanity.

Just let us know if their spines really do indeed start glowing red.

If we're talking new BSG Cylons I'll take 3, 6 and 8.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Congratulations your zing will echo through the ages.

I wonder if they can IQ test the brain to see if its equal to that of say... the average chicken.

Sooo...4mm human brains, no consciousness, probably only able to perform the most menial, binary tasks without ever getting tired.

...

Brace yourselves, they are coming for our jobs!

They already made a whole bunch of them and have secretly been testing them out on poasters in GD.

So how soon will they be able to create a fully functional, full-size brain?

Now it's a race between the biologists and the programmers - who can create a thinking, living being first and elevate man to god.

They probably won't create a conscious brain... because of morality. But it's certainly an interesting possibility.

Tiny brain? Hu... I have a feeling that many people managed to develop that on their own... Blink

Still... interesting... How about that: Sell it to Apple and have them make an iBrain as a backup for people that need some additional... computing power!

...yea, I'm bored.

Sell it to Apple fanboys. It might actually help them form coherent arguments in a Apple vs. PC discussion.

Joking aside, the childish reporting of innocuous posts and threads here is completely outlandish ... it's unnecessary and just gives more work for ISD.
