They sure know how to loose customers. They should provide consulting services.

Big difference is that CCP uses player outrage to measure response and tweak the game. As much as I'm sure there are times CCP wishes we wouldn't ream them out, they also know that it is invaluable feedback when we do that they are ******* up and need to step back and reassess. And every time they have done so, it has been to theirs and Eve Online's benefit.

Despite all of CCPs faults, moments like these prove they could be far worse.

Well thats how not to do it 101.

I wonder how growth / decline will be affected.

If theres positive growth upper management wont care a damn. Though hard to see that from this article.

Shame really. I loved mechwarrior.

Looks like the game has no players left right before launch, a rare feat to accomplish with 5 million $, tens of thousands of passionate customers and a cult IP of which you are the only instance at the moment.

I never interested myself into mechs, but this whole story is fascinating. There's nothing like a business failure to learn valuable lessons. I just feel bad for PGI's workers, as they don't deserve losing their jobs over the decissions of a few. What?

This could even work to CCPs gain. They look like rockstars now in comparison.

The incarna fallout never got to those kinds of levels.

It never got to those levels because the people at CCP (top to bottom) snapped out of it and did the right thing.

Does that mean either that CCP blinked first or PGI are resolute in their path to oblivion.

It would have. CCP admitted to a 30% loss in subs due to incarna, but it was likely much higher. (No buisness with shareholders tells the truth when sh*t hits the fan.)

But yeah... From what I'm reading up on MWO is that they have lost 70% of their players. (Not official statistics, community calculated.) So yeah, it's definitely worse than incarna and the Pay2Win direction Eve was taking at the time.

Fairly sly act (wrg to the forum change). Divide and conquer as they say.
This sort of maneuvering speaks volume about the integrity of the said company.
