Offices Should Close After A Certain Period of Inactivity

Well, my alliance just moved to a new region and we have a pretty awesome station with a clone bay. The only catch is all of the office space is at capacity, with most of these being corps that have been inactive for years.

Is there anyway to evict these corps? I have yet to find an active member in any of them, let alone a director or CEO.

If they're still paying, why should they be kicked out?

Because people who actually play the game need the space.

They do close after a certain period of activity. That period is one month after the last bill was paid and/or the money ran out. If the station is full, those bills will ramp up pretty quickly and empty the wallet faster.

Evicting people who are still paying the bills doesn't make much sense. P

It does if you are a spoiled twit.

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there.

I'm all for keeping offices for people who actively submit PLEX to keep their accounts open in the corp's leadership. But if they haven't even renewed their registeration to be a pilot in the last 5 years. They're not coming back. CCP needs to purge this nonsense.

If they stopped playing 5 years ago, they would have lost the office 5 years ago since auto-payment of bills hadn't been introduced yet.

I realize it's tricky to just remove people's assets or do things to their inactive character's stuff in space. But after some X amount of time, penalties should be imposed for inactive accounts.

There already is a penalty, they can't play.

So if they can't play, why would they care what happens to their offices?

There are. Their assets are impounded and they have to pay to get them back.
Until they stop paying their bills, there's no reason to complicate matters and kick them out just because you don't want to keep looking for a different station that offers the same services.

Btw, why didn't you do that before the move?

We're using the other station, but it still gave me the idea that wasted space should be cleaned up.

Anyway, after debating this it's a dumb idea. So my next course of action is to actually solve this via the sandbox aka pleading with a CEO I find that's active and offer him isk to move or threaten boat violence etc.

The rent in these offices, by the way, is 29k isk.... haha I'll be waiting a loooooooong time for someone to default :)

If they're full, it'll go up quick enough. It's that low, you can rest assured that it's not actually a particularly popular station and a slot or five will open up in short order.

A lot of people have offices everywhere just so they can drop cyno alts anywhere they need to.

for a cyno only pilot you can pod kill yourself to any of your offices with zero effect on your skillpoints.

All my views are my own - never be afraid to post with your main, unless you're going to post some dumb shit

OP, you are not reading the answers. Bills are not paid automatically so there are active players paying for those offices.

hm, i have noticed this a lot lately, all over, when looking for offices,
some systems i work in, there is no chance of ever getting an office,
and i still see no people in local
where i see offices for rent, most of them, hundreds of millions of isk,
even semi empty systems, 100m+ per month for an office
yes, it's high demand and such, but still,

other things aside, i miss the time years ago, when i could just GET an office, no availability issues,
mabey it's time to increase the number of offices per station,
there are easily at least five times more corps then there were back when this system was designed,
mabey the system should be updated?
