Better safe than sorry? (He wants no chance his money would be used that way)

Back on topic about what you wrote earlier Astenion, When I first read the ender series I was very young and thought it was the most amazing sci fi books i ever read. Then I re read them when i was all grown up and realized it wasn't all that great, still enjoyed the book tremendously, but still not a fantastic piece of literature.

I guess it was the concept that excited folks the most i dont know. What?

"The stone exhibited a profound lack of movement."

And now the truth comes out. You blame other people lobbying politicians, but not the politicians. You wouldn't mind moving back to the state that kept you from getting married, but you have a problem with Orson Scott Card being anti-gay marriage. Take a step back a second and look at this.

Who said anything about not participating if an entity does not announce being absolutely pro-gay ? I sure did not. You sure did.

Uh, well, you did. Also, I didn't say "not announcing being absolutely pro-gay". Please read more carefully. I said it wouldn't change anything for me to be at odds with a band who was anti-gay marriage even if I were pro. You said it:

While I agree Icelanders wouldn't be that uncool, neither would they be petty enough to deprive themselves of enjoyment just because the writer of the book on which the movie was based disagreed with their views. That's how pretty much all of western Europe is.

And when there is no place left to get married ? ? Whereto then ? And yes, I want to desperately move back to California. And with that statement, you seem to have an ulterior motive of a sort here, on top of the backwards thinking in your arguments.

Ulterior motives? What ulterior motive would I have? I moved out of the states because of the stupidity going on there.

Backwards thinking? You said you wouldn't support the film of a book you love because the author is anti-gay marriage and you fear that with whatever pennies he earns in respect to the massive amount of capital required to affect policy he'll be able to effect change just because he made a movie. Do you hear yourself?

I asked you if you would quit playing Eve if the boss were anti-gay marriage. You replied with the above post that you've already made clear that you would. I pointed out the fact that that is the very same intolerance of other people that you are railing against, and now I seem to have backwards thinking. Wat?

I'm pro-gay everything. This, however, is just silly.

That's pretty much how I feel about it. It reads more like a novella from a gifted high school student. It is entertaining, but I found myself on numerous occasions kicking myself for not reading another book instead. I like to finish books one at a time, even though occasionally I'll read a few at the same time.
