Look, I am famous!

At least for a moment so I thought. A guy named D400 shot my shuttle and podded me while I was auto-piloting through high-sec just now. Wondering why he might have done it did I check on his kill board.

I am a bit impressed. This guy seems to be doing nothing but to sit in high-sec with a -10.0 and shoots rookie ships and shuttles, with a record of 1330 kills in just 4 months since his creation and doing more than 193b ISK of damage.

Turns out I am not that famous and just a victim in someone's fast-paced success story.

True, you aren't famous.

Rightfully update the thread title to "Tributes to D400". We all deserve to read the stories of those his antimatter has touched.

Posting in OP's pirate alt thread.

Guess you got tired of waiting for someone to notice the shuttle-killing glory of your -10 alt.

Good luck in your pursuit of fame.

Edit: If he's suicide ganking, how are his losses so low? 9-1 kill/death ratio without bannable CONCORD avoidance? That may be worth discussing.

I do not want to discuss if or if not ganks are a bannable offence. (It is possible and therefore allowed until CCP says otherwise.)

It is the fact that a 4 month old rookie has destroyed something like 3 Titans worth of ships and pods.

And it was not a lucky shot like someone killing a Heron filled with PLEXes. This is true dedication. Does this not deserve recognition?

Ganks are not a bannable offense. Avoiding CONCORD after the gank is. At most, the ganker should be able to get one, maybe two ships and a pod before CONCORD blows them up, under current mechanics. At least that is my understanding. So a 9-1 ratio should be nearly impossible assuming all the kills are ganks. There was once a way to avoid CONCORD by ganking, warping, warping back, ganking more, warping away, etc., but this was "fixed" by CCP quite a while ago, or am I wrong?

To me, this is the most interesting question. How the ganker destroyed so much ISK targeting shuttles, noob ships, and pods seems obvious. Implants. Maybe a lucky cargo or two, or maybe a ship-scanning alt to take the luck mostly out of it. Either way, that part is trivial. The k/d ratio is the unexplained part of this for me.

I know that ganks are not bannable. Why do you even say that? The how is not interesting. You only do not have a clue on now how he does it.

He has been doing this in the last two days alone with as little as 8-10 hours of sleep in between, killing pods in high-sec from 2am to 6pm. It is like he gets out of bed, starts killing pods, and when he is tired does he go to bed, just to do it again the next day.

AFAIK, concord kill mails are only recorded if someone else is also on the kill. So the ratio would only be right if someone was always there to wh0re in on it...

WH, I am surprised to read you AP through space. This thread actually seems like a decent idea for AP as long as you are just trying to go from A to B.

Yeah, I really should have done those 22 jumps through high-sec manually and in a BS. I am a bit famous and should expect some fanatics along the way.

heh, killmails are only generated if a playr tags on the kill. A player vs Concord generate no public killmail or in this case, lossmail...

Posting in a stealth nerf D400 thread.

Seriously , the rest of us don't even have a chance to top the CODE. killboard in either quantity or most expensive. D400 is like a robot sent from the future to gank internet shuttles and pods.

Lol

Your out of the box thinking makes people think you don't know what you are talking about and you don't back down when they try to tell you off, I like that. I guess you have pissed quite a few of them off with your non conformance and they would like nothing better than to gank you. But famous?Roll

You'll need to **** some other famous people off for that.Twisted

Edit: Haha, **** but not pissed. Stupid filter.

That, too, does not make sense.

Why would someone be as upset or mad as to go 16 hours per day gate camping in high-sec? No one goes this mad over a game. At least I have not heard of it yet. Seems more like a case of OCD. Then again some miners go mining for an entire day, but you usually suspect it to be a bot after you see it for a few days.

I've not had much chance to be online the past couple of weeks and only flown with d400 a couple of times but I can tell you he is scarily dedicated to reintroducing risk into high sec.

I wish I was as awesome as D400.

Love his/her/its work. The constant string of killmails in James 315's channel is just awesome.

If D400 were a fremen, his name would be a killing word.

EVE is conflict.

Kudos to one pilot who has simply chosen to go down one path amongst many and demonstrate that. He doesn't need a fleet, SOV, vast industrial support or much of anything at all.

ONE PILOT. One shot. One kill.

Some sort of "Bushido" at work there for it's simple elegance -- and a slap in the face to so many others who try to make the game far more complicated than it has to be. P
