Is soloing C1/C2 space workable anymore?

I haven't played for a while so I am unfamiliar with the latest trends in the game.

I visited a few wormholes and there were p1ss markings by wormhole corps in all of them.

As I understand it the W-space does not change, just the portals. Does this mean all the available WH space has been occupied and territorialized or are there still empty C1/C2 systems?

Not all, but most good C2 wormholes are occupied, My corp recently foudn a c2-c3 though so there are still some out there.

Aren't a lot of the player structures in C1s and C2s abandoned?

My static rarely connects to a system without a FF although most do have at least one dead stick from a different corp.

A system inhabited by PI farmers or a small carebear corp is as good as empty.

You could always just join an established corp.

There are plenty of empty c1 and c2 wormholes, and if you will talk to corps and make friends as you explore, some (who aren't suspicious enough) will let you move in with your own corp.

As many other said, if you're new to WHs, the best way is to join an established corp. You'll get a good tutorial on the workings of W-Space then you can conquer your own WH with some friends/alts.

If you are day tripping it does not really matter if there is a crop in the WH, just if they are online.

You are more likely to be ganked by a roaming PVP gang (solo) than the locals assuming you are watching Dscan ect. (any non cloaky ship cant cloak until they have landed giving you time to spot them, and you can use sites like wormhol.se to see when people are active)

Not to mention that most low level WH corps are not strictly PVP corps (not with a HS static at least) and if they are I doubt they just sit in their WH waiting for people to pop in.
