Is it bad that I pre-ordered the collectors edition on Amazon around a month go and never got my code for the Nefantar and whatnot?

It is definitely not bad. I would be more pissed off about not getting the code because of the sleeve tatoos, which can be still sold for nice isk.

Even if it only offers average stats, potentially you can sell it for more than it costs you, due to its rareness. Being a giant bullseye, the last ones will be worth way, way, way mroe than any amount of PLEXes. Rarity is a commodity too, just go and try to find any of the AT ships for less than a hundred billion.

The Golden Pod, OTOH, is both desirable (it's rare & exclusive) and worthless (can't be transferred, sold nor lost). It's perfect gift, but a tad in the short end to be worth 150 €.


It's not worth much if there's ten thousand copies of it. Alliance tournament ships are worth alot because there's what, 20 of them?

Yes, it would be valuable but if you convert 150 euros to plexes you get what.. 5 bil? With 5 bil you could buy that bs for sure, there's no way the collectors edition BS would be worth 5b, 500 mil maybe. 500 mil is a joke, not even worth discussing.

Ranting on about a Collectors Edition being shipped with a ship thats potentially worth as much as one plex is just.. mind blowing.

I have a couple of the limited noob ships that are worth more than that. Not sure who you are trying to convince...

That promo pack at $50 is not a bad deal since you will get a sleeve which can be currently be sold in Jita for 1-2B ISK which is enough to cover that cost if you normally buy PLEX for ISK. This will also allow you to buy the CE later for $100 and I am thinking that the rest of the items are worth that much although sleeves will most likely have dropped in price by then. If the Golden Pod matches the price of the sleeves that should cover half of it, and you should be able to sell the CD, artbook, USB hub, and boardgame for at least a total $50.

Seriously I don't think the CE is overpriced for people who normally buy $100+ PLEX packages for ISK. I also don't think that many people have bought it considering the relatively low amount of preorder items are being traded in Jita. CCP probably is offering this promo pack to get an idea of how many people are waiting until October to order the CE. I believe that they have over produced items in the old store before. Those gorgeous battleship models (the ones people are now hunting for) had to have their price reduced several times and even the limited faction versions collected dust until the US CCP shop closed down. There is a small die hard group of players that love this stuff and are willing to throw CCP some money, although it is hard to guess how the size of this group.

There is definitely a need for clarification from someone in CCP

If I am reading correctly you can now buy a 'Promo Pack' for $49.99 which contains ALL of the Pre-Order Items, also including a voucher for the CE for $49.99.

You then buy the CE with the $49.99 Voucher and pay the additional $100 to AGAIN receive the Pre-Order items along with the Items shipped on 24th October,
or will voucher orders be exempt from all Pre-Order items as they will already have received a set ?

I am guessing this is the biggest bone of contention amongst those of us who bought the CE months ago.

If a second set of Pre-Order Items ARE included then I can assure CCP there with be a lot of loyal players expressing some displeasure at the large CCP induced suppository object.

On the survey I basically requested a "digital only" version of the CE that had all the non physical fancies (gnosis etc as well as pre-order) for a bit less than the physical CE.

The board game, USB hub etc would be cool, but it would be much easier for me to spring 80-100 Euro than 150 Euro (roughly 200 USD)

Got excited when I saw the dev post, but not sure how I feel about 50 Eur for the preorder stuff...

Its ******* bullshit that they are now selling all the incentives to buy the CE for a third of the price
This reeks of pay to win

It makes me so ******* angry that I saved up and forked out $220AUD for the CE on the promise of limited edition content and now their just handing it out to anyone at a third of the price

As far as I'm concerned CCP can go **** themselves if their going to be throwing around a scam like that
And thats what it is, a scam
Release a product with the promise of additional incentive limited edition content at an inflated price if pre-ordered
Then closer to the release date, release all the pre-order content at a fraction of the price to boost sales with no compensation to the original purchasers

If you want the pre-order content, then you bloody pre-order the item that it was promised with
Not just come along at the last minute and pick up all the incentives at 1/3rd the price

I'll be demanding a refund if this goes ahead as feel cheated out of my hard earned money and victimized by CCP on a promise of exclusivity which now means nothing

We could discuss wether 4 digital items (1 of them unusable for EVE) are worth 49.95, but obviously CCP thinks so...

I just wonder why the urge to grab money before october. Operational word is "october", which in 2011 was the month when finished a loan which CCP had to restructurate after the Incarnageddon, which in turn ended with laying off people (maybe to cut down their expenses and please the loaners?).

2 years later, CCP is piling money like crazy by october and it's known that the DUST launch operation was financed with a loan for 20 million USD (aieee!Sad).

So I wonder, is CCP facing financial stress?Question
