Tabletop EVE Space Wargame?

Random thought, I used to play a lot of games like Star Fleet Battles, Star Trek Starship Combat Simulator from FASA Corp, Renegade Legion series, Silent Death, etc etc...

It would be interesting, I think, to make a tabletop wargame, using hexes or inches/cm etc, and markers or miniatures, using the starships of the EVE Universe.

Not sure how that would all work in together, depends upon how complex you wanted to go, I suppose, between the OMG complexity of SFB to the simple fighting of Silent Death and such.

However, CCP, I would buy, play, and support this if it ever became some kind of reality.

Thoughts from the peanut gallery? game systems:? complexity levels? feasibility?

How would the inches/cm work and the weapons work? I guess you can convert the meters/sec into inches/sec.
