Today, after a meeting with some elements of the Brutor Tribe, Republic Justice Department and Republic Parliament, the creation of the Sentinels of the Republic (SEOTR) was formalized. The founding members took Oaths swearing to uphold the Republic laws and to help the progress of the well-being of Matari citizens.

This Corporation is aiming to become a powerful tool for the Republic, both militarily and industrially. The goal is to create stronger foundations for a stronger Republic.

The message and Mission Statement given by Sentinel High Commander Kiara Cami and Sentinel Supreme Chancellor Sebiros was the following:

We, the Sentinels of the Republic, based just outside the planet Matar in the Heimatar Region, are envisioning an independent and strong Minmatar Republic, free from the influences of foreign powers.

Our strength must come within.

After seeing the situation the Matari people are in, and how weak the Republic is at the moment, we felt that we had to act. Changes will have to be made. Internal quarrels must be quickly resolved and then put aside if the Republic ever wishes to be able to stand on its own.

We believe that only through a unified and Independent Republic can the Matari people play a significant part in New Eden and achieve their true potential.

We are inviting every Minmatar organization, corporation, tribe and pilot to join us in the effort of creating such a Republic. We offer training, resources, a good atmosphere and of course help in any way that we as a corporation can provide. We are looking primarily for Matari pilots to join us, but any capsuleer or corporation willing to aid us in our cause is more than welcome.

We condemn piracy, slavery, and every association affiliated with criminal elements. Enemies of the Republic and every corporation working for them are our enemies.

These are the main things the Sentinels of the Republic will try to achieve:

- Eradication of piracy so that trade within the Republic can flourish and common people may feel safer

- Abolishing slavery and freeing Minmatar families from Amarrian oppression

- Providing better living conditions for the Matari people

- Fighting and competing against any enemy, political or otherwise, trying to undermine the Matari economy, culture, or the people living in the Republic.

If all of the above are successful, we believe that the Republic can become a place where justice, equality, welfare and strength meet.

I applaud your initiative, and wish you the best of luck in your endeavors, though I'd surely contest the notion that the Republic is as weak as all that.

Captain Jack

We welcome your wishes and wish health and prosperity to you and your Corporation members as well.

As for the notion of a weak Republic, of course we understand that the Republic and the Corporations working for her did work towards becoming better at some areas nonetheless we believe that those changes havent been enough and that the Republic hasnt yet reached and thus shown its true capabilities.

Though I am no diplomat, if what you say is indeed genuine, then I think I would be justified to say that on behalf of the Lutinari Syndicate in particular, and the Electus Matari as a whole, that we wish you luck in your endeavors.

May all the People of Matar and our Republic one day find the peace that you and yours envision.

I support--guardedly--this endeavour.

Just out of curiosity, OP (Tarryn smiles wryly): How do you stand on the idea of Matarri/Caldari detente?

You have my best wishes for your actions against piracy and depraved elements acting in Republic's space.

May I ask you to elaborate on "[A Republic] free from the influences of foreign powers" ?

It will be interesting to see if this bears fruit and doesnt simply become a footnote in history.

I don't realy understand it, the sentence "abolishing slavery" may suggest that the Republic supports it. How do you supose to "abolishing slavery" in the Amarr Empire, especialy if the Republic from my knowledge didn't yet assimilated those from the 9th generation that have been freed. Also the Emperess Jamyl I stated that she plans to end the age of slavery.

Ms Farel

You have our best wishes on whatever undertaking you are currently involved.

As for your request of course and we shall fullfil it.

We believe that the Republic as much as it has progressed within some areas its still dependent greatly from the Gallente Federation and Caldarian Corporations. This we believe is undermining the true potential that the Matari people have.

However so that we dont get misunderstood, we are not stating that we dont welcome the help being provided by the Federation and even sometimes the help that the Caldari Corporations are bringing, on the contrary we welcome them. That nonetheless doesnt mean that the Republic and the Corporations working for her shouldnt show a greater willingness in becoming less dependent from Foreign figures(be it Corporations or other races).

The Republic doesnt have many things to offer. At least not as many as the other "Big 3'' can offer. That we view it as being negative for the Republic and a big factor for that is because in the first place Corporations serving the Republic are heavily influenced in satisfying the needs of other factions or being in a stasis of continuous interdependence from other factions.

That in addition we feel is the reason as to why the Republic is so divided internally wise. The Republic seems to be going 1 step ahead and 2 steps behind and for that we blame our on selves for not working for a strong Republic for Matarri people BY Matari people. If we wont look after ourselves, who will?

Going over to the question being posed by Mr Nightstorn:

Tarryn Nightstorm wrote:

Mr Nightstorm

Thank you for showing your support-even guardedly- in our Cause.

The Sentinels of the Republic are viewing the State with caution. We do understandthat under differentcircumstances the Republic and the State could be great allies but the level of Amarrian influences within the State is great. The most recent example i can give is the CAESA trade agreement. Of course you dont need me to explain you what the Feelings of the Republic towards the Empire are and how trade agreements creating a stronger Empire as an Output are being viewed by the Republic. We also understand that the Republic is a Stage which the State is using in the Cold War against the Federation and in addition how the ongoing tensions with the Empire are fueling many weapon supplying State Corporations with the ISK valuable for the State.

As for the Sentinels of the Republic, we welcome every Caldari Corporation being positive for our Cause and we have no problem having talks with those Corporations, however we believe that those Corporations will need to prove themselves so that we can trust them as many of the above in the previous paragraphs are stating that there are a lot of secret motives for Corporationssupporting the State to hurt the Republic in the long term.

I wish to thank everyone for their wishes and on behalf of Sentinels of the Republic we wish Health and Prosperity to everyone out there.

Ending slavery is a thing many people want. The Republic is not alone there. Will it be easy? Of course not.

Jamyl Sarum freeing the 9th generation was a nice gesture, although personally I doubt she did it out of the goodness of her heart. Perhaps she did. I'm just a bit skeptical. But whatever the reasons for that were, it was a good start. Whether or not she will and can follow up on her plan the end slavery altogether remains to be seen.

Integrating a large number of people to a society always comes with some difficulties. The Republic needs to be better prepared in the future.

I also want to thank all that have expressed support towards us. We are proceeding with baby steps, and welcome all the help and support we can get.

Teraa Matar supports the efforst of the Sentinels, and will be opening diplomatic channels directly.

While Teraa Matar officially endorses a Tribal government, we are pleased at any effort to combat slavery and strengthen the position of the Minmatar people.

In short.

We have your back.

Brave words and bold statements, pilot. Lets see if you can withstand the rain of fire that comes after. Life would be much easier if you chose to accept that it's not always so black and white as you paint it to be.

No, I guess not. And in any case, there are others far more qualified to speculate on such matters.
