I think this is the right heading to place expansion videos under.

Expansion videos/advertisements need to come out before said expansion is released. CCP wants more subscribers, right? One does not release the trailers for a movie the day it opens in theaters; there would be a day or two of empty theaters. I think it would be beneficial to build some Hype at least a few weeks--if not a month--ahead of release to generate some press. With the current way it's done, it's an "oh, that was nice", and it's forgotten in a few days. Right now it's a video for the current players.

Which brings up the second point about the videos: I do like them, and some of them are pretty kick-ass, but there's a severe disparity between what it looks like (a FPS), vs what game play looks like (comparatively a lot less interesting). If there's a way to bridge the gap, that may help new people know what they're getting into. But this is more an afterthought.

I jsut want to point that the rebates offered to returning unsubbed players seem to work. I am subbed because it costed me the equivalent to 9 euros per month, which is closer to my satisfaction with the product than the whole price tag of 15 euros per month.

Of course, I would like to pay more if the product pleased me more, but as long as EVE stays course, i strongly suggest to keep lowering the price tag to keep players content.

Also, as a second issue, I would suggest that marketing guys started advertising the real deal and not increasingly fictionalized versions of it. Things like the "laser Raven" from the DUST advert, the "capsule HUD " from the new opening trailer or the whole "exploring a cave" segment in the Odyssey trailer look like the guys making them have no clue of what EVE does and looks like... or are plain deceptive about it.

Would it be possible to add more subscription options? The ones right now are on the ok level but several other companies do this much better. For example Steam and WoT allow a larger variety such as bank transfers through web banks and pay by sms. Even the paysafe card is available in just a few countries.

I think this would benefit the game as people that can or will not use the current payment methods would not need to grind plex and might be willing to take more risks as their subscription isn't dependant on their isk supply.

This post was rated "C" for capsuleer.

Any news about Veterans Rewards? I seem to recall some talk about that in the last year.

Oh yeah.

Thanks for the plex invite links, they're great.

However, when someone signs up, I have no way to know who they are, so I sometimes get a PLEX and have literally no idea who to split it with (and when people come out of the woodwork, I have no way to tell which of them is telling the truth).

(PS The Dust invite links are even better, since they give a constant stream of rewards, and guaranteed automatic free stuff - obviously nowhere near as generous though because :play4free:)

Please ask marketing;

when was the last time an Eve Online trailer has this in the beginning:

Gameplay Trailer Shows Actual In-Game Footage

(yeah Shocked)

Eve online is :

A) mining simulator B) glorified chatroom C) spreadsheets online

D) CCP Games Pay to Win at skill leveling, with instant gratification

I have to echo Freelancer's post to a degree. I love the shininess of trailers, they really help me envision what the game *should* feel like. But it's a poor representation of what it *does* feel like.

Especially when they seem to have mock game UI that's better than the game's actual UI.
