It's a little irritating when people link a spec sheet that will clearly be able to run eve and multiple clients with high settings and ask

"Hey I want this is it okay?"

What you mean is "I am getting an awesome new computer and want to go fishing for approval from internet strangers"

Hi I am getting a supercomputer built as a joint project between NASA , ESA, JAXA and the Russian Federal Space Agency for only 230,000 euros. Will it play Duke Nukem 3D?

The little guy with the i5 would be my pref between the two. I'm a little wary of the Gigabyte board but that's only due to my personal bias on the poor quality of the last couple boards I had from them. That said, people have said the same thing about Asus boards and they've been great to me since I switched... It's mostly preference and what you want/need, I suppose.

Without turning this into an intel vs amd thread, I think the first link is a nice little rig even though I'm a fan of CM cases like the one shown in the second link.

Also, I wouldn't bother spending the extra cash on an i7 over an i5. If you mostly just browse the web, play games, and check email.. then you really won't get your money's worth out of the i7. The i5 is plenty for any gaming system.

Also, if you do a lot of gaming beyond EVE, I'd think about a solid state drive for the OS and whatever games you want, then have a second drive (traditional HDD) for storing your music and whatnot.

Use this as a good resource for CPU performance and GPU performance. I use it all the time. You can sort it via "bang for buck" and select from that.

I currently run:
An old Q1 2010 i7 930 overclocked to 4.1Ghz (Which is tremendous considering the stock clock is 2.8)
8GB of Corsair Vengeance
nVidia 660 GTX Superclocked

I'd recommend an i5 if you'll just be doing Eve. If you were doing other PC games, then I'd recommend something like a i7 4770.
