My Fabulous Null sec adventure.

So after many conversations about the pros and cons of High and Null sec, i decided to go and see for myself. This travel journal is not an attempt to say high or null is best, it is mearly a chronical of my inept fumblings in null sec, and not the good kind of fumbling.

After giving my board of directors the slip i Jumped clones to Maslle where my personal assitant had an iteron and Incursus set up for just such an expedition when next my board where busy counting rocks and wernt watching me to closly.
I chose Syndicate as i myself am Intake, which explains my less than Gallentee accent.

Bidding fair well i made the Short journey to the gate to 2-M6DE. I admit the jump was filled with a little fear. As i appeared at the otherside in my trusty Iteron to discover three warp bubbles and a rifter, i slamed my cloak on and aligned towards the nearest station. Once clear i jumped and docked up in Intaki Syndicate station.

It worries me that my race, i am Intaki and not Gallentee, seems to have to be part of criminal enteprise and that as a race we are known for crime and being turncoats. Anyway i digress, i said hello to local comms and was completly ignored. At least my kin welcomed me and my ship, or at least the ISK i spent in station. What did suprise me was that in system the avarage sec rating was 3, a rating that seems a long way from the lawless monsters that we see in holo reel movies.

After a while looking at agents for a likley place to set up i plumped on AAS-8R. I jumped to the first gate on the orute to find it campoed by a small Serpentis Fleet, maybe it was due to my reputation with serpentis and they had got wind from one of my less loyal directors i was here or this is common.

Eventually i arrived in AAS-8R my new home from home. After settling in i said hi in local and to my supprise some people answered. I must give a big shout out to Xell Gallente who was a massive help and i hope to be a new friend. He told me as a Neutral i am a victim waiting to happen, if im not blue to someone they will kill me out of hand. His suggestion was have enough money for ships and give a good fight, oh and make friends. To survive in Null you need to be part of a Corperation or Alliance. We chatted for a bit before i decide to go and get some supplies in.

There is very little tech 1 kit in the area, now i am a young capsular and i cant use a lot of the wares on display in the local area, now if you are as enterprising as me and have access to a blockade runner full of warp stabs, you may be able to make money here.

So a looking at the local area i set up a distribution mission for Quafe ( I hate the stuff, but it pays bills and i was heading that way anyway.). It was quick and without incident, and i returned with the fittings for a Vexor, that i had bought in my new home.
Once back i popped out to the belts to have a look round in my Incursus, and my god what are you feeding the rats here. Two serpentis Battleships hang in space and my ship feels a little small... I have ship envey, hmmm. Popping back i dock up and decide to go though the belts in order to see whats out there, whist trying to figure out if i can afford to buy a battleship (the answer is no by the way!).

.....and the rest

I undock for my fact finding expedition, checked for reds or lock attempts and align, then i explode. I jump my pod to the other station in the system and check local. Democrotitis thanks me for a gf, gf i ask incocently, good fight replies Xell. My eyebrow goes up. Now dont get me wrong Demo is polite and didn't pod me, he tells me about his ship and i seems like a nice guy. Maybe im to used to getting blown up in lowsec, but i enjoy being blown up there more, at least yousee it coming and the act of undocking is a roulette. maybe i made myself a victim by letting people know i was new and looking to make contacts, or Demo was trying to teach me my first Null sec lesson.

So once back and assured no one was going to blow me up, at no cost i might add!, i undocked my PVP setup Vexor (for you ship spotters out there its a tech 1 version of a popular set up choice as advertised in that custom ship company Battleclinic). I went back to the belts and engafged in some ratting. Now PVP set up ship ratting you shout, stupid noob you say? No It was ok, and against similar class ships with tech 2 drones is little risk. However at the end i had dinked my armour, so decided to go and buy an armour rep to reduce repair costs.

Off i flew to a likely spot to purchase my new tech 1 rep without having to sell my Myrmidon in high sec to pay for it. I jumped into systems, and scanned my next gate as i had been told to. It was the second to last gate i jumped into a gate camp in my vexor, I cloaked and aligned, but to slow and wasy hit by a bubble, i could go nowhere. Thrashers started a grid search of the bubble, till they popped my cloak, Knowing i was doomed i tried to lock, but i exploded so qucikly and my pod followed swiftly after. I awoke in Verge Vender, a lot poorer, but smiling to myself as im sure the ammo and bubble used to trap and kill me probably cost more that the vexor and fittings.

My personal assitant, Arianrhodd, however wiped the smile from my face by pointing out the meetings i had to attend.
What have i learned about null?If you are going to go there and have no finacial backing from an alliance or corp, you are going to need cash. I would suggest that you make friends fast and pick aside.
There are friendly people there, but if you are independent you are a victim in most peoples minds. You will explode, and thats a fact of life in New Eden.

Null has a trade potential for tech 1 for new people, or at least syndicate does and i will be flying stuff in t, only i'll fly my blockade runner, not a vexor this time.
Fly cheap till you get the hang of it, or at least thats what my insurance broker suggests.
I will have more exploits once i escape my paper work and tax returns are done.
Fly safe.

Sounds like you had fun, is good! Expect some negativity though, as this is fairly in-character-ish and might have a better home in "Intergalactic Summit". (Pretty good read also).

Also it may be worth giving lowsec a try, as there's no bubbles of death.

Reminds me of my first nullsec experiences, which were in Syndicate as well.

Good read!

So basically all you learned was that you have no chance in any kind of PVP and can't do PVE in a pvp fit ship. Which since you have no chance, is moot.

Good job.

well if I see you I'll try to not blow you up.
But you picked a fairly dangerous system to set up shop in, so be warned.

if you want to shoot at idiots try 1-nk 2 systems over

I can't tell if this is stealth roleplaying or not, but it might be better suited for the IGS. Everything there is posted 'in character' as if EVE is real and not just a game.

OP must live in US TZ as east syndicate is utterly dead for the other 16 hours. Apart from FIGL in 6CZ there's a few clockwork pineapple, another alliance whose name escapes me (they're continually being :welped: but stick at it so fair play to them) and a load of carebears around T-LI - my alts Anathema of Doom kept 7 of them docked up while I made insta-undocks.

Fabulous? Possibly if its your first time in null. Personally I'm heading back south as even GW is better than this, and that's REALLY saying something.

West Syndicate and south Syndicate (dotlan maps) might be better but dotlan suggests not.

meh syn is terrible, but there is terrible action to be had

you also got flying timidly, dark panis rising, scrote krapel, moon worriers, fatline, raisin bread, and a few other inconsequential scrub alliances like the midget mafia and clockwork pineapple.

then there's the Germans, French and Russians during the day....

You are an excellent story teller. I like your adventure because someone actually talked to you! That is a super good achievement already. No one ever talks, just shoot and ignore :[
