Eve launches, but doesn't respond

Hi

I just started playing, and I can't get eve to work.

The launcher launches, patches, checks, etc. All fine. I log in, it works. I hit play, the game launches, then doesn't respond. I have to force quit after awhile to try again.

Any suggestions on what I could do to help? I suspect if I can lower the graphics settings I might do better, but I don't know how to modify the game settings outside of the game. (I could be COMPLETELY wrong on the graphics settings thing)
