The issue magically fixed for me now. I don't understand why.

Still present here :\

Log in --> Undock --> Jump --> Jump back

The "jump back" takes 1 minute again and I appear 1.000.000km off gate.

I'm just not playing the game at the moment as it's unbearable. Hopefully the 1.1 Odyssey patch will somehow fix it or the devs get back from holiday and see my bug report and at least acknowledge that it's a problem.

Reporting that with the deployment of Odyssey 1.1, the issue persists. I still can't play the game. I'm really needing some help to get this fixed!

I think im getting the issue again. But Its getting the freeze ups which last a minute as I used to have and it's going to cause my ships to blow up.

For some reason the 1.1 patch caused it or me clearing out my cache.

EDIT: Or I'm getting total client lockups at the worst where I have to force quit the client.

Just to be clear, when do you experience the issue? At a jump to another system or a dock/undock?

Time for another bump. I actually found another thing I could do by myself that I was not aware of at first. I managed to get a log file with the error reproduced!

I went to this site: https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Mac_bug_reporting

and did some tinkering myself in order to get the command right and the corrupted files in the right place. After booting the game with cider logging, I managed to instantly reproduce the bug, so the log is as small as possible. Anyway, I'm not sure how I should get this log to CCP. I already made two bug reports. Hopefully, a dev can help me further. I'm saving the log on my desktop for now.

The log contains lots of these lines:

0012:trace:module:GetModuleHandleExW (0x02, L"KERNEL32", |some code|)
and
0012:err:ddraw:D3D_GL_draw glGetError returns INVALID_OPERATION for DrawPrimitive

And with lots, I mean lots and lots and lots.

Please help me solve this issue CCP! I can't do this on my own!

I felt I had to get the log file to CCP, so I just created a third bug report and attached the file. Sorry for the spam! But I'm not sure if the bug is being fixed or even acknowledged right now, so I'm giving you as much info as possible.

Thanks for your in-detail breakdown of everything you've tried, Xasnevian. I'll attempt to do some investigation myself off the back of this. If there's any progress I shall let you know.

Conclusion

I reinstalled EVE Online by downloading the Mac client from your website. I test in the following way if the problem does or does not appear:
  • Open launcher, log in and launch game
  • Log in on character Xasnevian
  • Undock from Bahromab VIII - Moon 6 - Republic Security Services Assembly Plant
  • Jump through stargate into system Kudi
  • Jump back through stargate into system Bahromab
  • Dock to Bahromab VIII - Moon 6 - Republic Security Services Assembly Plant
  • Logout

  • The problem did not reappear with the clean install.

When I put back "corrupted folder: c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility" into the clean installation, the problem reappeared.

Just so I can get a bit more information: If you have a completely clean install, and if you do not copy your suspected corrupted folder into the clean installation does the issue appear again after a period of time?

First of all, thank you CCP Sledgehammer for replying to this thread! It's very good to know that the issue is being investigated :)

My initial answer is: No, the issue does not appear with a clean installation after a certain period of time.

But now that you ask this question, I'm not sure how long that period of time actually is. Off the top of my head, I'd say I have played for a maximum of 2 hours with a clean installation.

In the mean time, I'll put back the clean installation and see if I can get the issue to appear, either by playing the game or by using my computer as I normally do, other than playing EVE.

I hope you can find something. Good luck!

Not a problem! If you can just post here if you have any problems appearing with a clean install then I will add that to my list of factors that could be causing this.

    Cheers!

I wondered if it was just me but the go slow bug is affecting my client too. Most infuriating it's hard for me to participate in fleets as my gate jumps and beacon jumps take twice as long as my corp mate. Have you discovered a cure yet CCP Sledgehammer?

    Hi Thorado,

I am still investigating the issue. Could you please list your system specs and internet/network connection speeds?

    Thanks!

CCP Sledgehammer, I experience slow jumps as well. My specs:

    Late 2012 MBP
    2.7 GHz Intel Core i7
    16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 (2x8)
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB
    + Solid State Drive

Regarding Network Connection: There is no noticeable difference between my jump times via gates, jump bridges, cynos, or cyno beacons between two different networks.

    Network 1) 75 mb/s
    Network 2) 45 mb/s

I spend the vast majority of my time on Network 1 and I actually tend to experience worse lag while on it.

Im feeling a little pissed off because I have an open ticket for something that looks exactly like this for 2 weeks .. problem has been occuring on and off for a month or so ..

Upside - when I log and relog I am placed randomly in space .. (anyone wants a poseiden level deepsafe in Jita let me know)
    Downside .. game unplayable

Do you cross reference tickets ?

    Cyno -noprob
    Gate - noprob
    Undock .... yawn .. make a cup of coffee ... oh .. here I am ...

    Hey Dybbuch,

Just to let you know, after the dev posted that he was going to investigate, I decided to reset all my settings (overview, bookmarks, window positions, etc.) by deleting the settings folder and manually set everything back. The error has not returned since. Hopefully, the dev will find the problem and eventually fix it, but in the mean time, you might try this as a work around.

    Good luck!

Appreciate it - have tried once ... it seemed to work for a day ..

will try again- just not looking forward to manually rebuilding a 2000+ bookmark tree

    Omg... I can't believe this.

Just after I said the above, the bug is back... I'll check if it's temporary or here to stay. Very bummed out by this...

Edit: Phew! I believe a client restart fixed it, but obviously something is still not right.

Edit2: For the record, at the time the error occurred this time, I was having a Skype conversation with 2 people, had Steam open, had the EVE launcher open and was browsing in Safari.

After the Rubicon update, it's back :( Clearing cash didn't help. Restarting client didn't help. Hopefully it'll fix itself again.

Edit: Unfortunately it's still here. I've noticed a difference though. When I jump through a jumpgate, I get stuck in the jumping animation for a long time (the one where you travel through the tunnel to the other system), but when I finally do regain control, my ship gets out of warp, instead of just sitting there.

It's like in the 30 seconds it takes me to regain control, my ship has jumped through and warped off like it wanted to log off while still in space.
