My spouse and I might be able to attend this.

Does Battle and Brew in Cobb County still exist? If so, would be a fun, easy to get to and relatively inexpensive venue to consider.

It does. Great place.

Quick update:

1. We're up to 20+ registrants with players from PL, Goons, FA, TEST, EMP, RvB, Noir. and more coming out to play.

2. The Joystick Game Bar has kindly offered to have us in - they are, surprisingly, expecting a "slow weekend" because of the holiday. This will likely act as "home base" for us as it's downtown in an easily accessible place.

3. CCP has confirmed their participation and we will likely see some of their Atlanta staff at some of our events.

If you're within driving distance, you don't want to miss this! Again, PM me for registration details!

Shot you the registration link!

Be sure to get registered, friends. If you need the link, shoot me a mail and I'll send it over. I went and checked out Joystick - very cool place with some nice lounge-y areas to hang out and talk. This weekend should be a blast.

I'm going to go ahead and make that public and hope that people don't utterly destroy it - fingers crossed. :)

Is this place easily MARTA accessible? I fly into town for DragonCon and accessibility is a major issue.

Glad to see there is something EVE related happening this weekend at DCON. Hope to be able to meet up with you all at some point.

The Joystick has a pretty pricey per-hour for private parties and doesn't open til 5. On the other hand, The Brick Store is one of the top beer bars in the world and is just a short walk from CCP's office. We will go congregate at the Brick Store when they open at 11am on Saturday as our "main meetup." It's well within taxi range of the Con and I think there may be MARTA bus routes that work.

Somer Blink has donated a number of promo codes, PLEX and faction battleships for this, by the way. CCP has promised swag but what they're giving is still TBD.. you don't want to miss out! :)

ohh The Brick Store looks nice. Had heard about it and was thinking of tossing it on the private agenda to visit but since it's now Sat lunch. well that'll work nicely. See everyone in just a couple days.

So Glad that something is going down at DragonCon this year! As large as this convention is I would be shocked if CCP did not have some sort event or booth (of any size), however it is good to see that the players are towing the line.

I, unfortunately, will be attending RL events out of town this weekend, and will only be able to hang out for a little while Thursday and Friday morning (my building for work is two blocks away from the convention).

I would like to get something set up a bit more often, if possible, after DragonCon. Perhaps at Battle and Brew in Marietta or the Joystick in Atlanta, to conduct future events (quarterly???)

For those you you meeting up this weekend at DCon, have a blast!

I wouldn't taxi from the convention to The Brick Store, but it is definitely along the marta lines. In fact, the marta (train) stops almost directly under it.

To get there from the convention, get on the Marta train at the Peachtree Center station going south. At the 5 Points station, change over to the east bound train and get off at Decatur Station. The Brick Store is almost directly above it.

Looking forward to seein' y'all there.

The goal is monthly, hitting both those places and a few others on a rotating schedule. :)

Didnt see this until pretty last minute (i.e. now), but seems like a lot of fun. Will try to show up for at least a few of the events if my schedule permits.
