Don't doubt, Firefox and all modern browsers use hardware acceleration. If you're experiencing the issues you've detailed, I'm sure you would try anything to get it back to normal.
We're still investigating all the avenues we can find for this issue, so that's why we're looking at the general environment you're playing EVE in.

It is not an issue of browsers, as when everything except Eve is closed, I still can produce crashes.

Also, I am running all clients with the same settings, no difference at all, I checked everything, still 1 account not working and 2 are working

I had a run of very successful blind logins (where I can see the cursor change when it hovers over one of my character portraits, but otherwise only have a black screen), getting in on 6 consecutive tries...but then I stupidly changed from windowed to full screen and now cant get in at all. Where I would usually have the derezzed or pixelated dock screen flickering madly until a Force Quit, now I just get a black screen. The cursor will sometimes change to the crosshairs, but whereas before I could move it around the screen and see it change over the various menu windows (which were not visible, due to the flickering pixelation, mind you), now it just stays the crosshairs. After giving it a minute or two to see if it chugs through, I'm unable to command-tab out for a Force Quit and have been forced to reboot every single time.

No apps running besides Steam, which is how I get into EVE.

No second monitor.

EDIT:

Cleared my cache and settings from the launcher, and appear to have gotten in on the very next try. Though while trying to tweak settings down to the lowest available graphics options, I'm getting some pixellation on my ship and during docking. In fact, there is a noticeable hang when I warp into a dock station which I have been able to mitigate by pre-positioning my camera as zoomed as possible on the prow of my ship as I approach the dock. For a second I thought I might have careened headlong from the black screen bug to the flicker crash bug, and was a sad panda...

New patch on 11th of February did not fix the issue (as i'm guessing you all knew). my Mac specks are earlier in this post and I only play on one screen. Steam is not involved in my game playing.

I ultimately put it on my work computer (a PC) so I can at least update my training queue every once in a while. we're all losing tons of game time of mining and combat and most of us are losing skill training time (even I lost nearly two days before I decided to put it on my work computer). I can only hope that all of this is made right.

Yesterday's patching problems were resolved and our attempt at fixing the black screen on character select is finally out. Let me know if things have improved.

I patched, tried, but no. The problem exists exactly as before, so I guess the changes you guys made didn't fix it.

I too downloaded the patch today and tried now several times to fly in space again, sadly nothing has changed. Still getting the black screen aufter the login at the selection screen. I even waited more than one hour, as someone mentioned, but nothing has changed.

Really need some good news now snorlax!

Can we get some good news instead of constant bad news such as "free PLEX for everyone" or something? Sad

I appreciate your effort on this Snorlax and Paradox Blink

Bad though it's difficult to get a reproduce of this since it's not a real crash... only if there was a way to get a dump log from the flicker freeze...

It came from Singularity is the thing this problem... AFAIK before the AMD card issue. Though I think the worst suggestion would be to reverse everything on Tranquility before the 1.1 patch, that would fix all our problems... Roll

Still getting the black character selection screen. Sometimes it freezes up my computer and sometimes it doesn't (same as before the patch).

Edit:

Mid-2010 13 inch MacBook Pro
Processor 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB
OS X 10.9.1

Also freezing up when I try to open the menu to load a different overview profile (I have a Sarah's overview pack so there are a lot of choices) and when a lot of things load grid at once. Always playing in windowed mode with graphics set to lowest possible and all effects turned off. Freezes happen both with and without my second monitor plugged in regardless of screen resolution but seem to happen more often when using my second monitor and playing on 1920x1036 (or something like that, I cant remember the exact resolution).

Same, no success with the path, or with deleting the files mentioned on page 1.

MacBook Pro - Mid 2009
OSX 10.9.1
nVidia GeForce 9400m

It was working perfectly before all this, now it's really affecting my play and getting very annoying.

Confirming that today's patch doesn't seem to have helped with the black screen issue, or the frozen client on log in.

Thanks though for all the work that you are doing Snorlaxx.

Patch didn't help for me either.

Wrote an automator that deletes all eve files from library and then launches eve without the launcher. Have tried all kinds of combinations of settings, resolutions, windowed or not, ui-scaling, performance settings etc etc. Nothing helps.

I see the intro video. I gave gotten as far so i can choose character, and even login (i can see the cursor changes). So i think i have been in space, but screen is black. There is also lots of flickering, all over the screen, even when i run it in windowes, which is weird....

Still having issues after today's update.

But thanks for the brave attempt Snorlax, really appreciating you and your teams efforts on this one. I just wish you had a machine in house that had this problem.

You can jump on a flight to the UK and come and work on my machine, there's a good pub around the corner and I will make sure you are kept up to date with coffee and donuts :)

Still not working for me either.

OK so here is the information I know how to access easily:

MacBook
13-inch, Mid 2010
Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB
Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63b)

What else would help? I don't pretend to be super tech savvy but if there is something else that may be helpful I'd be happy to figure out how to find it.
