regardless, one truth from this....CCP better get ready for the next 10 years because it will be far harder than the last 10 years. EVE has to compete with several new promising sci fi mmo's coming out that may just pull significant players from eVE

competition is good for players

Launch was a disaster (as usual), currently they're testing v1.19 and keep working to improve the game. Probably it will be at full speed in ~5 months more, as every other X game did.

Apparently v1.19 RC4 is playable and functional enough to be what one would had expected from launch.

Lol, it was a disaster. X-Rebirth is one of the worst games, ever. Currently has a Metacritic User score of 3.2 and Metascore of 34.

If you think the EVE-O General Discussion board is full of tears and rage, try the Egosoft board. Egosoft has managed to alienate virtually their entire userbase. I can't see Egosoft surviving to release an X-Rebirth 2.

No. Never. Absolutely not. This game is DISGUSTING. Even without the bugs. 2013 dud game of the year. X-Afterbirth they're calling it. I've put 100 hours into attempting to mod this game into a playable state, and I've accomplished a lot, like getting player-owned ships to actually shoot their aggressors instead of sit there like a dead fish and explode under fire from a single fighter, amongst other things that have yet to make their way into a patch.

Did you know you only get to fly one ship in Afterbirth? Do you know why? Because it was developed on console, and they were limited to one generic model to put on display at landing pads when you went into a station. Oh, yeah, not to mention there are about 12 different station environments to walk around in, with about as many npc faces, most of them completely wrong, and as many voice actors with the worst dialogue in anything ever.

Not to mention the mindboggling stupidity of how you get around, amongst a myriad of other problems the game has without the bugs.

Afterbirth is trash, and if EVE is ever like it, then EVE really will die.

Doesn't make any difference. Even without the bugs, it's a terrible game. Failed console launch turned last-minute PC port and rushed upon an unsuspecting fan base who expected better. Much, much better.

I notice the OP was posted back in August, back when we were all still waiting, expecting greater things than we were delivered. I wonder if the OP still agrees with her original assertions then after playing it.

Add to this "make voluntary PvP more attractive to the risk-averse gamer", and I'm down.
It sucks not having targets to shoot. I should not be excited about finding a lone frigate to kill, when I would much rather shoot groups of cruisers.

There is a simple reason allmost any new mmorpg and a lot of hyped single player games out there fail and that is ''promises'' .Gaming companies these days are like listening to your government around election times.


This ain't the gaming days of pre millenium any more where gaming companies actually delivered what they said in advance to release.
