If AFK cloaking and log in traps are removed, what is left for attacking nullsec bots?

What isn't logical about wanting a way to kill the ships of people who are ratting with automation?

rather than wanting fair gameplay and proper rule enforcement you would prefer to let the wrongdoer lose a ship and continue doing what is wrong. Your not out to enforce the rules, you just want another kill. While that is a common desire in this game, your asking for a way to engage a ship that is for the most part using normal game mechanics to evade you. the botting software doesnt give them any invulnerability or anything of the like, they still have to fit the ship in a manner that a software program can simply execute commands rather than having a player there.

And again, how do you know for sure he's botting? what if he's just smarter than you?

I want both.

I want botters to both lose ships in PvP and to get banned.

Nice try selling this as a way to combat botting.

Which is exactly what it does.

GM's have been trying to stop bots in countless MMO's for over a decade with zero success. Why? Well it's pretty simple, the professional botter runs a bot farm with dozens of accounts and if a few here and there get banned, then they could care less. Even if they're all banned the botter will just start up again.

The best way to combat botting is to remove all the safe spots or to give players the means to break their toys ingame. Paying a GM hourly to play wack a mole is by far the worst.

If AFK cloaking is removed, then what system should replace it to allow the predator to hunt?

Weapons timer for shooting anything and not only players. Also prevent hiding under POS shield while weapons timer is on. Should suffice imo.

Opinions are like assholes. Everybody got one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks.

While that might help combat the botting problem, it will also affect legitimate players who use the system fairly. But honestly it's more of a punishment to ban an account thats has everything set up for botting then to kill a single ship. and if you think you have found a botter you really should petition it. help the GMs out, because again, you're allowing a botter to bot. like you said, if he loses a few ships (considering he doesn't care about losing an account) then your just letting him bot.

What would be left is a little thing I like to call 'consensual PvP'.

While this is EVE, and Non-consensual is allowed, it's not the only way. Try finding folks looking for a fight

AFK cloaking isn't the only way to engage or scare "enthusiastic career nullsec ratters". you could actually try showing up and killing them. you dont even need a cloak, or to be AFK. And you get this cool little thing called a killmail to show all of your friends.

If you believe the pilot is truly botting, report him. He will get banned. which is much worse punishment than anything a player could bring down on him.

How about we get rid of the advance warning system residents get. How about we reverse it, instead of seeing the incoming hostile early, there is a delay?

Maybe if we put the shoe on the other foot...
