Sunday 12th October 2014

I have to say, I've been thinking long and hard about that Tengu loss on Saturday. I've never really liked the fit and was considering not replacing it. Yet it was my goto ship for PvE sites and must have made me a couple of bill in the 12 months that I've had it. I couldn't think of another suitable ship to replace it in those situations, but it hadn't been perfect.

The fit had originated from Dev/Ra OwA, 2 other CTRL-Q directors. They used it to run FW missions, it was not Covert Ops capable, but instead had a Prototype Cloaking Device and a MWD. However, I didn't consider the Cloak/MWD trick safe enough to risk jumping blind with a Tengu. So in the one time I tried to run a FW mission, I was warping to a perch and scouting myself through. The Tengu might have been faster in the mission space, but traversing multiple systems took a lot longer than a Purifier that I just warped gate to gate. Their second argument that it could defend itself from a single interfering frigate in the mission space was not really valid IMO on two grounds. 1. It didn't happen often enough and 2. You didn't know what back up the guy had, thus it wasn't safe to take the fight in the first place. Thus I ended up only using it for anomalies in Huola. However, it was buffer fit and I like to run PvE sites in an Active fit, so I'd switched a Shield Extender for a Medium faction Shield Booster (50M). It never occurred to me that such a change might suggest a different defensive sub-system, I'd stuck with the +4% Shield Resistances one. I'd also stuck with the cloak/MWD even though I rarely used either. The shield booster wasn't powerful enough and it capped out too quick even with the MWD off. In short it was a bit of an abortion.

So after finally deciding I was going to replace it, I actually opened up EFT and studied the various subsystems to get a better fit. I decided to drop the cloak and discovered that the more appropriate Defensive Sub System gave me +10 Shield Boost per level and an extra mid in exchange for the utility high. I also switched to an AB fit, which gave me a lot more cap, could be used while under fire and again was supported by a better Propulsion Sub System. All these changes allowed me to fit a large Shield Booster and a Shield Boost Amp. Finally I ditched the T1 buffer rigs for T2 cap and resistance rigs.

I moved my alt to Jita to purchase the stuff. He also purchased a Zealot and all the fittings, plus T2 rigs for a Navy Augoror I was building. T2 rigs have got significantly cheaper of late and I'm using them for anything remotely blingy nowadays. I had a brand new Bustard sat in Jita which I'd purchased a few days earlier and had yet to undock. My first ever DST. So I fitted this ship up for tank and piled all the blingy stuff into the Fleet Hanger, thinking Fleet Hangers couldn't be scanned, I had over a billion Isk aboard. However, I had the sense to use my Jita Insta-Out, warped gate to gate and got the thing back to Huola without incident. Where I then tested it and found cargo scanners can see into the Fleet Hanger.

I fitted up the Navy Augoror first, undocked and set up the module hotkeys. A WT Tormentor undocks on me, he must have just joined the Amarr Militia to have been inside the station. I'm able to lock and tackle him. He can't redock and dies without firing a shot.

Next I fit up the Beam Zealot, then the Tengu. There is a Besieged Covert Research Facility site in Huola. I decided to grasp the nettle and run it to see how the tank held, knowing how the old one had performed in those sites. My DPS was slightly lower as I had dropped from three to two Ballistic Controls and a Power Diagnostic Control, but the tank was superb. Only needing me to pulse the Booster now and again and the cap could easily regen between pulses. I'm on the second spawn when a flashy Vexor lands close to me. I'm aligned to station and go straight to warp. Jump into a Breacher and warp straight back hoping the Vexor is trying to finish off the site. Instead of a single Vexor, I land on a 20 man cruiser gang and bale quickly.

I warp back to station, but just as I'm docking up, a WT Firetail lands behind me. I immediately undock, burn out and catch him. It is quite a tough fight as he is arty fit and can hit me in my 18 km orbit. A corp Thrasher and Thorax undock but the fight has drifted off station almost 200Km and they are not in fleet with me. I try to invite them, but both are in a different fleet. The Firetail finally pops, but just at that moment, 2 WT Kestrels and a WT Slicer land on top of me. However, the wreak provides a warp in and both friendlies warp across. Together we kill all 3 WTs in a most satisfying fight.

I go on to have a superb day of PvP in various comps which included another run out in my Claymore to bait two Cyclones, both of whom died. Several solo kills including one where the WT pilot convo'd me in mid fight and begged me to spare him. Lol. He came into my plex, in Huola, and was Amarr Militia, what did he expect?

Ended the day 31 kills for 4 losses (2 Breacher, Cormorant, Slicer)

Monday 13th October 2014

Lory was running an advertised fleet, Rail Moas. Some of us got on line early and were patrolling the local area. Predator Elite and friend were about and in a derping mood. First they derped a couple on Navy Omens, then came back in Cerberus' and derped them, I lost a Breacher in the second engagement getting the hero tackle on one of them. We also ganked down a neutral Cyclone on a gate using the shoot once, bounce to shake gate gun aggro and then return tactic.

Lory came online and we returned to Huola to form up. Almost immediately a WT gang of Dessies took control of a small plex in Huola. We made one attempt to dislodge them, but found they were kity and had gone to range, whereas we were all in AB brawlers. We baled, intending to reship but then got distracted by two neutral Prophecy's on the undock. We docked up and lory got people into the Moa comp. I undocked my Claymore and engaged the two Prophecy's. The first docked, the second red boxed on me as I took dock guns. Lory undocked the fleet and we took him down.

We moved on (after I reshipped into a Moa) and reached the Auga gate in Kourm. Forward scout reported a neutral Typhoon, 2 Navy Omens and 2 Deimos on the other side. They jumped into us, we engaged the Typhoon first but it micro jumped away. The others burned away in different directions, but we took down one of the Navy Omens and then by bouncing to perch bookmarks and back to tackle, we caught and killed everyone of the other four, including the Typhoon. Star of the moment was Savesti in a Hyena who made it all possible.

As we were finishing off looting, something landed on the gate and jumped to Auga. I forget what it was, but it must have been at least cruiser size cause we chased after it and jumped into Amamake. We found a small frigate gang on the other size with a PL Tornado. The Frigates jumped away and we alpha'd the Tornado off the field. He must have shouted for help when we first jumped in before realizing how many of us there were. First a PL Naga landed and was alpha'd off the field. Then a PL Cynabal landed and shared the same fate.

We did a circuit of the warzone and killed a couple of things, then were rushing to get back to Huola after a report about a neutral Caracal gang set up in a medium plex there. Lory put a bait group in first consisting of 2 Ospreys and 4 Moas. We lost both Ospreys before the main fleet arrived but then we took down 4 Caracals.

We reshipped into grab bag kity frigates and dessies and spread around the local area. It was a heavy night of traffic and we were getting loads of small fights through Kourm, Kamela, Sosala, Roushzar and Lamaa. Lory called it a night, but I took over the fleet and keep it running in loose skirmish mode. My main objective was to run a few plexes in Kourm which had been at about 10% contested. But after another 3 hours we had only clawed back about 5%, due to the fact that everytime we got the plexes covered another gang or blingy gank would come along and everyone would pile across.

My most memorable moment started with two WT Navy Omens, we chased them as far as Labapi/Roushzar gate, caught and killed them on the Labapi side. However, upon returning through Roushzar I noticed a WT in local and checked the plexes. He was in an Algos in a medium. I went in but he baled leaving the plex with 38.5 minutes on it, or 1.5 minutes for him. It seemed obvious that he would return to finish that off. I cleared everyone out of the system. Then jumped out myself, reapproached, jumped back in and warped straight to the medium. He was on the gate, but I just missed him as he activated, I followed but just missed him on the warp in. He went to the sun and I followed and for the third time just missed him, in all cases he warped out as the lock was resolving. So I went back to the plex and ran the clock back a few minutes, then went to Huola and reshipped into a Stratios.

I came back to the plex and sure enough he baled as I activated. But once inside I burned 10 kms from the warp in to a point that I could cloak up and wait. A couple of minutes went past, a second WT came into local in a Caracal, he came onto short scan and I took a chance and burned in, decloaking in the process. At that point the Algos also appeared on short scan and I suddenly wondered if I'd bit off too much. The caracal landed and I double webbbed and scrammed it. He put me into half armor before his RLML reload cycle kicked him. He was dead before it finished. The Algos never came in and the Caracal pilot posted a confused message in local that he saw an Algos on short scan in the plex which turned into a Stratios when he landed.

Ended the night 47 Kills for 1 loss.

Tuesday 15th October 2014

Savesti had a Frigate roam advertised for tonight. But as usual I logged on early, formed a fleet and started running a few plexes. More people joined and skirmishes kept kicking off in Huola and surrounding systems. My personal stats don't reflect just how busy it was, I missed loads of kills either because I was in logi, or a little slow to the party.

Savesti came on and decided to leave things as they were. Lory came on just as 'Never Surrender' showed a leg. He took over the fleet as I was mincing about with the boosts but I think we over shipped in a Cruiser Shield comp and scared them off. Then after we put our stuff away they came back in a more blingier comp and we over shipped into a BC Armor comp. We killed an Oneiros, but the rest ran away.

So we went back to skirmishing around the plexes. The most memorable fight was against a solo Worm of Never Surrender. He active tanked 30K before he went down and at the end of the night I sent my alt to Jita to get a copy of his fit.

Ended the night 15 kills for 1 loss (Breacher).

Wednesday 15th October 2014

I was running an advertised Longbow Cormorant roam tonight. I only advertised it the previous day in response to an engagement on Sunday when we had found that few people had these ships available when they were called for and they really should be one of our bread and butter comps.

Numbers were low, about 8 turned out of which only 5 were in Cormorants. Weazls were running a competing op, but they were in a blingy T3 comp and I didn't think a lot of our pilots would be able to ship to that. However, on the night they abandoned their planned op and went for something more conventional.

All the same we had great fun, there was quite a large Amarr gang out and we engaged them several times on various gates bouncing around Kourm, in and out of Kamela, Huola and did a short circuit through Sisiede and Amamake. We took down about 11 WTs, mostly T1 frigates, but lost a Cormorant and the 3 non comp pilots in the final engagement with a bunch of cruisers.

Ended the night 11 Kills for no loss.

Thursday 16th October 2014

Started the night engaging a small Amarr gang in Kourm, there were around 5-7 of us on both sides in frigates and dessies. We fought each other 4 or 5 times pushing each other out of the plex and reshipping fast for the next round to catch the other while they had people missing, off to repair or reship. I lost a Breacher and Algos during these fights. I think we made more kills eventually, but the Amarr closed down the plex after we got distracted killing a neutral Rupture on the outside of the plex. Just as it died a larger gang of neutral frigates and dessies fed in. We baled, reshipped into sniper Cormorants but missed the fight.

Zen had an advertised training fleet up for that night and it was his time, so he took over the fleet and shipped us into Armor Tristans with Inquisitor support. Fleet grew to 16-18 and we did a tour of devoid before coming back to Kourmonen via Lamaa. A WT Thorax jumped with us but escaped on the other side heading for Auga. We followed and the initial people jumping into Auga reported a neutral Cruiser gang on the other side.

We went back to Huola and reshipped into Altas cruisers, myself in an Augoror, then returned to Kourm and got into a large plex. The neutrals had jumped in, but so had an Amarr Cruiser gang. All three gangs were similar size at 15-20 strong, but the Amarr had an Armageddon and Curse with them.

Nobody was willing to commit to start off the fight when a third party was clearly on the cards. After waiting a while, we warped to the Lamaa gate, to see if we could instead get a fight with Never Surrender who had been seen in at least two Claymores. Both the neutrals and WT fleets must have had eyes on us because they both warped to the same gate seconds later, leading us to think they were working together. We jumped and warped to a medium plex in Lamaa, but then reports came in that both the other fleets had jumped in and were fighting each other. We warped back and successfully third partied the battle. We killed 3 Amarr Augorors and a Brutix and 3 neutral Augoror Navy Issues without loss, only two of our ships were fired upon and it was a trivial exercise to keep them up. We were left owning the field and quickly scooped the loot.

Zen called it a night and I left fleet and took a break. But about 40 minutes later I returned and heard Dreaded and Bengal talking about taking a fight in Kourm. I spoke up on comms and joined their fleet and went to Kourm in a Slicer. Dreaded was in a Flycatcher and Bengal and Nudeldudel (a recent recruit, formerly Amarr) were in Breachers. At first we tried to engage a neutral Navy Omen and Vigilant in a medium plex but I was quickly put into structure and had to bale. The Breachers followed suit leaving just Dreaded inside pulling to range. Eventually the two neutrals left, but then two WTs arrived in a Thorax and Rupture and entered the plex. Bengal and Nudeldudel returned and with Dreaded started kiting the two cruisers but had insufficient DPS. I reshipped into a Fleet Scythe and went back. Primary was the Rupture but it was well off the warp in and I had to thread my way around the Thorax to reach it. I finally got on the Rupture, but I moved in too close thinking we could quickly burn the Rupture down before the Thorax got in close. Instead I got double webbed and scrammed and the Rupture tanked a lot better than I expected. The Thorax burned in and my damage climbed alarmingly.

Everyone was overheating, the Rupture finally popped, but I was still webbed and scrammed down and the Thorax had double reppers. He capped out, both of us were in structure. He was doomed whatever, but if he took me with him they would probably win the Isk war. One of us popped and it was so close that for a split second I was checking my own stats to make sure it wasn't me. 6% structure I had left and so shaken/excited that I forgot to loot the wreaks that were on top of me. Instead I warped straight to station to rep before someone f*rted in my general direction.

I reshipped into a Slicer and got into a novice plex. The rest of our little gang moved across to Roushzar to try and engage a WT reported there. Two Executioners came to my plex and the first one entered. I engaged and noted that he was repping. The second entered and I switched fire to him assuming he would be the DPS with a much lighter tank. I told the guys and they acknowledged that they were coming back to assist, but I really thought I would have both nailed before they got back. Instead the second one was also repping. I still figured it would only be a matter of time before he capped out and I would kill him. But I was working on the assumption that my own ship was cap stable, like my trusted Breacher. The boys arrived just as I capped out and I lost everything, MWD, point and guns. The Executioners finally caught me, webbed and scrammed me down and I had no reps and only a speed tank. However, too late, both died to weight of fire from 4 friendlies before they could take me down and I ended up top damage on both.

Ended the night 21 kills for 2 losses.

Been trying to up the value of the ships I've been putting on the line especially as I'm expecting to see more expensive and larger opponents around after the November patch. I've had some good fights of late, especially in a Claymore and Garmur. But this has led to a few expensive losses of late, most notably 2 Worms (sigh), both lost in the most stupid of ways.

The first one was a double shield extender buffer fit. I'd brought 4 just after Burn Huola and was given the fit and I just went mad and fitted all 4 up. One Worm I gave away, the other 3 sat in my hanger for ages. The expense was in a faction scrambler, which pushed it up to around 200M. Looking back I can't help but think it was a total waste of a faction point. But it also had T2 rigs and a pair of 'Augmented' Hobgoblin.

I'd already decided I didn't like the fit and had converted one to the Active Tank fit that I'd seen the previous week. But that involved destroying two T2 rigs and I was reluctant to do that to all three Worms.

So I decided to use one for plexing Roushzar. It was actually quite good for running offensive plexes and I found I could solo Novice, Small and even Medium plexes with ease, while the Large could be done with difficulty (slowly), but ideally needed helper DPS. Anyway I was running plexes for 2 or 3 hours with a few other people and we regular stopped to engage people and had ganked down several faction frigates typically Comets and Slicers. The buffer fit worm did have the advantage over the active fit one in having a large empty cargo bay, but even then by the end of the day I was having to jettison cheaper loot until I had around 30M loot aboard. I was also carrying some heat damage to my prop mod and the warp scrambler, so as I was in a large plex with an AF, I took that opportunity to start the repair on both modules.

A few WTs came into local. They warped straight to the large and then another load jumped in. The first three landed, 2 Comets and a Slicer. I called the guys in from the other plexes and dropped my 'Augmented' Hobgoblins and then discovered that both my MWD and Scrambler were still repairing. I had to cancel the repair and then I was scrambled myself before I could get to range. Never mind, I called primary on one of the Comets. He was going down reasonably fast. I started locking up the other targets and found the Slicer also taking heavy damage and he was pulling to range. I then realized it was my drones that were on him, he must have fired first and they reacted before I fired on the first Comet. Trouble was they had almost killed the slicer, so I dithered. He continued pulling away, finally too late I pulled them off him and back onto the first Comet. The Comet popped and I started on the second but then the blob landed and I went down. I'm convinced that if I wasn't distracted with the repairs and got the drones on the primary, we would have taken both Comets down before the blob landed and then of course I would have had my MWD back to pull range. More frustratingly, I'd sat with the heat damage for ages thinking, I'm going to be going back to Huola to drop off this loot in a moment, so I might as well save the paste. Then for some reason had chosen just the wrong moment to finally do it. 229M loss.

The second loss was the Active fit Worm. It's expense was in a deadspace shield booster (89M), but also had T2 rigs and the pair of 'Augmented' Hobgoblins. The first outing was against a neutral gang about 5 strong which included 2 Hookbills and a Sentinel. They were being a right pain inteferring with deplexing in Kourm. Initially I was on my own and they kept running me out of the plex while I was in a Breacher. But then a couple of others joined my fleet and I figured I would bait them in the Worm and call in the others. I found the two Hookbills outside a plex, landed on them and dropped my drones. I started targeting them, but they were damp Hookbill and damped me down so far I couldn't even start locking them after that. The other three turned up and the Sentinel neuted me flat. My friends arrived at the same time. A Hookbill and the Sentinel were killed and the rest ran. Only after the fight did I realize that my drones had done 63% of the damage on one and 85% of the damage on the other. Result.

So I tried the same thing again a few days later, this time the target was a gang of 3 Tormentors, a Rifter and 2 Merlins. I thought they were inside the plex and had people aligned. I landed found them outside and immediately attacked the first Tormentor while calling the boys in. I ripped the first Tormentor apart before anyone else arrived and moved onto the Rifter, he went down too, but my own damage was rising. I was using my Shield Booster and it was handling it initially and then I capped out. I was like 'WTF' that was too soon. I thought I was being neuted, but no icon. I sat there and died miserably and only while podding back to station did it suddenly hit me.

I had a cap booster and I forgot to use it.

240M loss and looking back I could have probably soloed the whole gang with that setup, if I'd just used it properly. I was so used to running a cap stable dual ASB Breacher. On the bright side the entire neutral gang went down and I got back the Shield Booster and the Hobs. The first thing I did was crush the T2 rigs on the third Worm and convert it to Active fit. I'll be using that again and I won't be forgetting about the cap booster again.

Friday 24th October 2014

I log on and find a single WT in system with a load of blues. I suspect he is being cheeky and undock to scan the plexes. There in the Novice is a Slicer. I'm in a Breacher and I immediately warp to it and activate the gate.

He is right at the warp in, in a Scram/AB fit. I crash through and get to range and start kiting him. Only then do I realize I haven't replaced my drones from last time. Doh! He has got a local Armor repper and it takes some time for my missile DPS to take him down, but I resist calling for help and finally he pops. The KM is contaminated by the NPC, but he actually has the loot from another kiting Breacher in his hold. It takes me two trips to get the loot back to station.

Annah was calling for Ishtars, he had some sort of structure bash operation running. It was the second stage as it came out of reinforced mode and he was expecting a fight. The problem was my dinner was going to ready about half an hour later. Ra OwA was pushing people in Iron Oxide to join the fleet, so I decided to go for it and jumped in my Ishtar. They were just about to move out, a fit had been posted and I checked mine against it. Identical but for the drone loadouts. I changed them and undocked to set up the drone groups.

Three WTs had come into system and I did a quick scan of the plexes. There in the same Novice were two Incursus. I thought about it, an ideal target for my Worm. I dropped fleet, got in a new one with my boosts, reshipped and warped to the plex. Only one Incursus was there when I landed and I expected him to run. I activated and found him close to the warp in, expecting him to try and bale, I burned straight at him, until I was bumping him. I was tanking him and this time I remembered my cap booster, but he was also tanking me. The second Incursus arrived, he landed close and immediately applied full DPS.

Suddenly it was no longer a sure thing. Annah meanwhile was undocking his Ishtar fleet. I was still on the same comms as them. But there was no way I could sing out that I needed help in a Novice. I'd made my bed I decided.

I switched fire to the second Incursus hoping that he wasn't so tanked. My damage was dipping into Armor between shield boosts. I was overheating everything. As I finally got my drones reassigned I suddenly realised I'd just broken the first Incursus' tank. I clumsly switched everything back onto him again. Now my damage was dipping into structure.

The first Incursus popped. I switched fire to the second. There was no danger after that, but he didn't try to break and run, possible because I was half in structure, but after the first went down, my shield repper was holding. In very short order, the second popped. In hindsight he would have been the better primary, if I'd switched to him the moment he arrived. I should have attempted to maintain some range from them too, not sit in their face at their optimals. But I was initially expecting them to run and wanted to be as close as possible to hold scram long enough. A load of mistakes, but it left me with such an adrenaline rush. Like my early PvP days. I hauled my Worm back to station trailing flames.

I had no room for the loot from the Incursus' and decide to go back in a Bantam to pick it all up. I land on the gate and find the first Slicer pilot there, now reshipped into another Slicer. He has just activated as I land and goes into the plex. I bale back to the station and think about what would be a good counter.

Would he fit identically to the first fight? I thought it probable, cause he had already killed one kiting Breacher in it and my DPS had been so low without the drones that he must have concluded that he had been very unlucky there. So the Breacher would have been the obvious choice. However, I decided to go with a Slasher as he might just run if he sees me in a Breacher again.

It was a classic fight. He was brawler fit again and the fight took place at sub 1500m. I had a web, scram, TD, Neut, AB and Armor repper. But he also had a neut and we neuted each other flat at various times, eventually I was able to get my web, scram and TD running again and tucked in under his guns. He went down, if was never really in question, but the fight was a lot closer than I expected.

Annah's fleet went onto kill a PL Moon Mining POS in Tararan. Shortly after they killed a PL Sleipnir. A good result, but I'm not sorry I missed it.

Ended the night 23 Kills for one loss (Breacher).

Saturday 25th October 2014

The warzone has really hotted up. The Amarr are on Tier 4 while the Minmatar have dropped to Tier 1 and the systems have been falling to the Amarr hand over fist.

Saturday was a day of multiple fights in multiple ships types. Several times I was in and out of Logi Cruisers, both Ospreys and Augorors and some medium sized punch up were had in addition to the usual skirmishing around in frigates. One trip into a Wormhole in Roushzar to gank down a Proteus and Tengu.

People seem to be moving from null sec to FW. We have had some very experienced new recruits of late.

Ended the day 55 kills for 4 Breacher losses.

Sunday 26th October 2014

The clocks went back in the UK this weekend and I was up particularly early and online for around 0930. I found a load of WTs in Huola running multiple plexes. They had a 5 man cruiser gang in the large with 2 Augoror and then were spread between the Novice and Small with 2 Worms, a Navitas, Bantam, Firetail, Incursus and Griffin, possibly a couple more. There were around 10 friendlies in local but from various corps. I pulled a fleet together but initially only 2 joined, although I did have boosts running too.

At first I couldn't think of a way to engage them, but then noticed them abandon the novice and quickly reshipped into a Garmur and got into it. After about 5 minutes they came back in force and I burned to range. I then conducted a number of drive bys and damaged several of them. Several of them warped off leaving just a Bantam and a Worm. I called in the other members of the fleet and primaried the Bantam. We killed it but the blob arrived and killed my two fleetmates. They reshipped and another joined fleet. Meanwhile I continued my drive bys and was delighted when I killed the Navitas, then drove off the Griffin in deep structure. Again some baled and I called in my fleet mates. This time we killed an Incursus, Firetail, Worm and the rest ran.

The WT were based next door in Roushzar and they reshipped into Cruisers and came back at us on our station undock. A few more people had joined fleet and we had a great kitchen sink punch up, killing several of them and driving the rest off.

That really set the tone for the whole day. The warzone is flipping to the Amarr, a great time for Minmatar PvPers and there was constant skirmishes with them mostly in Houla and Kourmonen. I was in and out of various ships including my Claymore with which I helped kill a Phantasm, while in another outing in my Garmur, soloed an Astero. Several times there were calls for organised fleets and I flew an Osprey and an Augoror in those which both ended with successful punch ups. Ended the day 63 Kills for 1 Breacher loss.

Wasn't really planning on PvPing today, but needed to do some admin, which included some JF runs and the processing of a number of recruits. However, the call went out and I undocked to help gank down a Maalstrome and Cyclone in Kourm. Forty minutes later, I responded to another call. It came to nothing, but while I was returning I was engaged by a WT Kestrel on the Huola gate in Roushzar. I killed it getting 100% of the damage, but two other pilots were on the KM.

Shortly after that I was running a plex in Huola in a Breacher, semi AFK while checking mails. A WT Succubus came in and caught me. I called for help but I was dead before it arrived. I reshipped into a Garmur and after a bit of a search caught the Succubus off another plex gate. Again I called the boys in. Most struggled to reach us as we burned 3 or 4 hundred kms off the gate (no warping on grid with a plex gate). I kept pounding him and put him into deep armor with some bleed into structure but he had a Small Armor Repairer II and was just tanking me. A friendly Tristan finally caught up with us and the damage rose to deep structure. Then suddenly he sling shotted his way out and escaped. I was gutted, my own fault entirely, I was too wary of getting caught and maintained a wide orbit requiring attention. I maintained that attention until the Tristan arrived and assumed he had webbed and scrammed the guy down. But the Tristan didn't have a web, and if he had a scram, it was no different to a long point against a (faction) AB fit Succubus. It would survive until the next day.

I kinda of binned it for the night, but in the early hours of the morning and with the next day off work. I came back to the PC and went to run a plex in Kourm in a Breacher. I caught a Maulus and killed it with ease. Next I engaged a Talwar and completly messed the fight up.

First he was short range rocket, scram, web, armor fit. I went in to him but somehow didn't preheat my MWD, something I always do normally. I managed to coast out to 10Km, but couldn't restart my MWD and he closed in. Then I realised that I had EM missiles fitted, normally my default is Kinetic, so I had to reload. To my amazement I was able to tank the damage long enough to reload both ASBs and then I burnt out my missile launchers. It was left to just my two drones plinking away at him which got him to about 90% armor. I got through another set of ASB reloads and would have killed him if I had missiles, but eventually he popped me.

I reshipped into another Breacher but he baled. However, I found a Coercer outside the plex and killed it with ease. After dragging the loot to station I returned to the plex. As I landed I did a short scan and found it empty. But before activating for some reason did another short scan and this time got a Thrasher. I pulled to range and a few moments later a neutral Thrasher landed. I tackled it and started to kite, then an Algos and Retribution also arrived. I switched fire to the Algos and struggled to thread my way around them while maintaining point on the Algos. We drifted a 100 Kms from the gate and the Algos was clearly going down. I was getting ready to switch point back to the Thrasher when a neutral Cruiser blob landed on the gate. The Thrasher and Retribution took that excuse to bale. I killed the Algos, then podded him, then looted the wreak and scooped the corpse. The blob didn't bother even trying to burn out to me.

It was a great end to the night, ended the night 7 Kills for 2 Breacher losses.

Tuesday I took off work, my daughters birthday. We did the family thing in the morning and then she was off to see her friends. So I got on Eve in the afternoon and a great skirmishing day was had around the Kourmonen area. I ended the day 42 kills which included 2 Worms, a Succubus, Garmur, Stratios, Augoror Navy Issue, Cerberus, 2 Omen Navy Issues, Vigilant, Oneiros, 2 Comets, 6 AFs and a Scimitar, but it came at the cost of 5 Breachers and a Scythe fleet issue. Well worth it.

The most memorable engagement was against a neutral Jaguar with me in a Breacher. He came into my plex and I started to kite him, but I was distracted talking to several fleet mates who were in nearby systems and I let him slip out of point range and he got out.

Next he was bad mouthing me in local about how bad I was, letting him in an AB fit, get out of point range. He went on to advise that a Breacher should be a close range brawler fit. I don't normally talk in local, but this time I bit. I looked him up on Eve-Kill and mentioned that he had 8 kills for 33 losses and was in no position to give out PvP advice. He started sprouting off that he was an alt and knew his stuff and began repeating again all my faults.

I just knew the guy was going to come back to the plex at some point. This time he wouldn't activate, just wave his d*ck on the outside and continue bad mouthing me. So I bounced out and waited on the gate. Within a couple of minutes he landed and this time I murdered him, I would have liked to have given him some advice, but I podded him too and he wasn't in local after that.

Thursday 29th October 2014

Lory was running an advertised Kity Cruiser gang. He decided to run without reps, speed and range would be our protection. This opened the door to both shield and armor fits and I decided to take a Navy Omen which had a local armor repper. Around 20 joined fleet and at the last minute Dev rocked up in a Scimitar.

We went to Auga first intending to head out through Amamake into Metro. Then got a report of a flashy (Death by Design) Megathrone on the Kourm gate in Kamela and we rushed back. It jumped into Kourm just as our advanced scouts reached it, the bulk of the fleet landed and we killed it.

We set out again this time heading through Kamala and down towards Sahtogas. Advance scouts found 3 WT Vexors on the Tannakan gate in Anka and jumped with them. They tackled one of them and the other two warped off, but then a WT Augoror coming in the opposite direction also landed. Our main fleet had meanwhile jumped into Anka and warped to the Tannakan gate. There we held waiting for the enemy to either aggress or jump. Both jumped and died.

We moved on one jump and bizarrely caught the same Augoror pilot having reshipped into a new Augoror, blindly continuing his previous journey and he died again. RL interrupted and I had to drop fleet.

I returned a couple of hours later to find the fleet had disbanded. While a few people were still about, I merely formed a private fleet with my booster alt, myself in a Breacher, to clear out a WT from a novice plex in Huola. He was in an Atron and was an easy kill even though he caught me at the warp in.

Huola needed one plex to make it stable. I decided to run the plex down. Shortly an Ivy League Incursus came into me, I caught him at the warp in and proceeded to kite him, we drifted a couple of hundred kilometers off the button. He was AB/Blaster fit with an Auxiliary Armor Repper. Initially, I thought I was going to solo him easily and got him into structure before he killed my drones. After that it was a struggle, a couple of times damage started bleeding into structure in-between repper reloads, but then he jettisoned his remaining paste and repped permanently, not knowing how to turn auto reload off. After about 10 minutes I finally resorted to calling for help and opened the fleet up. Two people responded and while they ended up doing less than 5% of the damage between them, it was what was needed to break the tank. He finally died having taken 14660 damage.

More people had joined fleet and it became a general plexing / skirmishing fleet with around 10 members. After looting and repairing heat damage, I returned to the Novice plex in Huola to finish it off. Although I'd been in there over 20 minutes, it had mainly been off the button. Hardly had I got there than another Incursus came in with a similar fit. This time I waited about 5 minutes trying to break his tank before calling for help. He finally died and the plex closed.

I moved to Kourm and started running plexes, over the course of an hour or so, soloed an Executioner, then a Kestrel. Then got into a fight with 2 Incursus and an Atron. I called for help and a few people came over to help including a Garmur. Meanwhile the (MWD/Scram/Web) Atron had caught me and things were looking grim as the two Incursus burned out to us. I was desperately overheating my missiles trying to kill the Atron before the Incursus arrived, then found he had a local Armor repper. The Incursus' reached me, but at that point my first reinforcements, a friendly Garmur landed and burned out towards us, then got himself webbed and scrammed. The two incursus left me to burn the Garmur down. I killed the Atron then switched fire to the first Incursus. The Garmur went down, others arrived and we finished off the first Incursus while the second baled. Not a good result overall.

A flashy Prophecy aggressed my booster alt on station. He was taking dock guns and our gang warped over and tackled him. PL hot dropped us and we lost a Maller and Worm. My booster docked up. I took a break at that point and when I returned found only about 3 of us left in fleet, one though was Savesti.

Running another plex a neutral Comet came into me. He got me webbed down at 15Kms closed in and killed my Breacher. Ten minutes later the Comet died to Savesti and I was still on the KM.

After reshipping into a new Breacher I returned to the plex and this time a PL Worm came in to me. I tackled it and despite the fact that he could manage 3K, I managed to maintain point and stay out of his web range. Savesti landed in a Slicer and went to work. She got herself webbed and scrammed towards the end, but the Worm popped first.

Final kill of the night was a WT Blackbird that sacrificed itself to save a WT Navy Omen that we had caught on a gate. Ended the night 15 kills for 1 loss. Meanwhile my daughter gained a kitten.

Thursday 30th October 2014

Zen was running a Shield Frigate gang and took us for a roam of the warzone, we killed a few things, most notable a WT Oracle that followed us from Amamake into Gulmorogod, then a neutral smart bombing Rokh in Ardar.

We returned to Kourm and camped the Kamela/Kourmonen gate, it was unusually dead. We killed a few things, most notably an AFK boosting Cyclone that Viscora probed down in Kamela, he then probed down the pod and while we killed it, it was empty.

Ended the night 15 kills for no loss.

Friday 31st October 2014

I log on and join fleet, a mixed bag of about a dozen people from different Minmatar alliances plus a couple of friendly neutrals. I run one plex in Huola to get the system to stable and then move over to Kourmonen which was on about 13% contested. The conditions with the warzone suggests that this weekend is going to be a heavy PvP one and Kourm will be at the center of it.

Within a few minutes a fight kicks off on a small plex gate, I was in a Breacher and initially 5 of us, all in frigates, land and kill a WT Caracal before turning on the second ship, a neutral Tengu who appeared to be working with the WTs. The Tengu tanks like a boss and burns off at 2000 m/s I post for help in corp and alliance chat and SERIFOS responds, then go through the TS Channels asking for help. I find a group from Etti nearby and they come over, but they are in Armor Cruisers with a couple of Augoror and cannot match the Tengu speed. All except 1 Thorax, which burns out to us only to die.

Eventually the Tengu runs out of cap booster charges and finally dies having taken 129,974 damage, mainly from 2 pilots SERIFOS in a Rupture (46.46%) and Maglor Shaye in a Worm (33.34%), I was third in a Breacher (11.74%) and 7 other pilots shared the remaining 11%. The value of the kill was 2.53B, but then we caught the pod for another 1.97B.

Within a few minutes a call went out and I got on another big kill, this time a Macharial valued at 967M.

The night wears on and it is a constant stream of small skirmishes mostly in Kourmonen, but one particular sortie into Sosala sees about 9 of us (myself in a Garmur) take on and kill a 7 man Amarr Cruiser gang, some of whom reshipped and lost 2 cruisers. We did lose some stuff in the opening round when some people fed in piecemeal, which included a Cyclone.

At another point a group of 5 PvP fit Nereus' turn up and engage us. We kill all 5 on a plex gate initially, but on round 2 they take the fight on a system gate and as they have good sec status get the gate guns to assist them. I survive but others go down, we finally kill them again. I do like killing Industrials cause they count on the KB Griefing stats which usually has a low count.

The night wears on and I stay up later than normal because it is so active. Towards the end we kill a Slicer and then catch the pod. It is a 4.6B High Grade Slave pod.

Ended the night 60 kills worth 12B Isk for the loss of one Breacher. However, 24 of those kills worth 5.24B were achieved in the early hours of 1st November.

Ended the month 567 Kills worth 39.76B for 40 losses worth 1.64B, efficiency of 96.04%, 33 (pure) solo kills and 167 Top damage. This was my 3rd best ever month for kills, just 9 behind the Arzad Campaign in May 2013. My second best month for Isk value, 1.33B behind the Arzad Campaign. That of course is without those last 24 kills in the early hours of November 1st.

Saturday 1st / Sunday 2nd November 2014

I was expecting a heavy weekend of pew, fighting over Kourmonen. However, first RL interfered limiting my play time and then when I did log on, although there was a fair amount of Skirmishing, there didn't appear to be any serious play by the Amarr to push Kourmonen. Or if it did we nipped it in the bud before it got going.

Saturday I managed 8 kills for no loss. Sunday was 28 Kills for 2 Breacher losses.

Monday 3rd November 2014

Kourm was once again at the center of a series of skirmishes. Interrupted by Annah pulling together a beam Zealot fleet to take on a neutral BC gang, who then went to high sec before we could engage them. We then noticed a BS scrap going on in Kamela and tried to third party. 3 Dominix were engaging a DBD gang, but had driven then off by the time we arrived. We caught and killed one of them but the others warped out.

As we were putting things away a Neutral Typhoon warped to a sniping position off the Kourm gate. I went back in a Breacher and burned out to him. He fired at me and caused negligible damage and I got a point on him. He Micro Jumped, I almost caught him a second time, then he warped to station. A few of us warped after him, we landed and engaged, but he deaggressed and docked up. Moments later he undocked in a Slicer and I engaged him. He tried to kite me off and succeeded in initially seperating me from other friendlies, but I held point and tanked him until a couple were able to warp to me and help finish him off.

The fleet largely disbanded, I went back to Kourm and decided to run one more plex before binning it and got into a small. In due course a WT Talwar came into me, he was brawler fit with a MWD, but I was easily able to kite and kill him. However, a Thrasher appeared on short scan and I overheated my missiles to get him down quick, taking some heat damage in the process.

The Talwar popped, the Thrasher had left short scan and I clicked the repair button. Then the Thrasher reappeared on short scan. Something odd happened, I'd started the repair but it didn't appear to be working, there was no emote. The Thrasher came in, it was Lictus Alice a former GalMil pilot who used the militia hat to AWOX Minmatar militia while appearing blue to them. He was now in a neutral corp but I still had him watch listed and marked for special attention. I tackled and started to kite, but my missiles wouldn't fire. I right clicked on them but got no option to either repair or stop repair. After a couple of attempts I finally ungrouped them and found two of them in the repair cycle and the third not being repaired due to a shortage of paste I presume. Never seen that before. I stopped the repairs and regrouped them, then started firing.

Meanwhile Lictus was b*tching in local at me for having boosts. I b*tched back about him being an AWOXer and he actually said "At least I had a good reason for AWOXing". He never stated what that was, I assume it was that he was so bad it was the only way he could get a kill. Anyway he died and warped his pod out still b*tching until he left local.

Ended the night 11 kills for 1 Breacher loss.

Tuesday 4th November 2014

I log on to find Kourm at about 26% contested and about 17 Amarr in local. There are two plexes up, the Medium has 4 people in it, the large has about 12, all Frigates, mostly faction including 5 or 6 Slicers, 2 Hookbills, 2 Comets and a Worm. They also have a single Bantam.

I form fleet and spam alliance, corp and the intel channel chats with it, asking for shield frigates, ideally Merlins with Bantam logi, I ask for 3 logi and get 2 initially, then after a bit of whinging, 2 more step forward, I go with 4. There are about 12 of us finally ready to go, myself in a Merlin, but we have been so slow getting formed up, the large has shut down and the WTs have all balled up in the medium.

We jump in, the plex is close to the gate, we warp to it and activate immediately. The most chaotic fight then occurs which devolves into a series of mini fights as people burn out trying to get tackle on. The result was surprisingly successful, we lose a Bantam and Maulus, but take down 10 including 4 Slicers, 2 Hookbills and the Worm.

Dev was running an advertised fleet, Arty Firetails I think. He forms a new fleet, but I'm keen to get Kourm under control now that it was empty of WTs, so myself (now in a Breacher) and a couple of others remain in the original fleet, ghost running the plexes as they spawn. A 5 man neutral cruiser gang arrive and enter the medium plex. Dev's fleet is just jumping into Kourm and I'm on their comms, so I call them in and get tackle on one of the cruisers. Another good punch up, we lose 2 Bantams, a Hyena and a Firetail, but take down 3 Moas, a Vexor and an Arbitrator.

I finish off the plex, decide to join Dev's fleet and run after them still in my Breacher. The fleet is 15-18 strong and we end up in Hadozeko. There we take a fight with Never Surrender who had relocated to that system (from Lamaa). They feed in piecemeal starting with a Claymore, Gila and Deimos. Eventually we kill 2 Deimos, 2 Exequrors and 4 Thrashers, but finally have to bale losing my Breacher, 5 Firetails and 3 Bantams.

We stream back to Huola via Eszur and in the process sight a large Amarr fleet that appear to be on the way to a bunker bash. Checking the FW tab, we see that it is in fact Hadozeko that is vulnerable. We organise the new fleet we are going to form as we continue the journey home and then when we land in Huola we have a very fast turn around. I take a Navy Augoror while double boxing the fleet boosts.

In short order we are back on the Hadozeko gate in Ardar. I put my boosts in and set them up. Dev orders us to jump in and just as we do, the WT fleet land on the gate having been chased off the bunker by Never Surrender. We burn back to the gate expecting them to jump but they take the fight instead and we slaughter them taking down 2 Augorors, 2 Sacrileges, a Navy Augoror, Thorax and a Harbinger without loss, before the rest bale.

We return to Huola and after a bit of a break I form a new skirmish fleet and go back to deplexing Kourm in a Breacher. We have a great night of skirmishes. In the early hours I finally drop fleet, do a bit of admin which includes accepting a new recruit and then I should have logged. But I just have to take another look at Kourm and then decide to run one more Novice plex.

I'm a few minutes into the time when a TLF pilot comes into the plex in a Tristan. He kills the NPC and I advise him that it is friendly to us. I don't know the guy and he seems to be a bit of a noob. I drop my guard and become distracted. Suddenly he's right on top of me, webbed and scrammed me down and trying to kill me. I respond and kill him, but am left with some armor damage and most of my modules half fried. I'm just scooping the loot and drones when 4 neutrals enter the plex, landing 12 Kms from me. I burn away. They are in an Atron, Slasher, Tristan and Firetail and I hang around at range to see how it develops, thinking they will eventually warp off and I can finish the plex. The Slasher and Atron are both fast and try to burn out and tackle me a couple of times, before returning to the button. Eventually I catch the Atron too far out and kill it, just as the Slasher arrives. I kill the Slasher just as the other two arrive and then target the Firetail. I have to let it slip out of point range to avoid the Tristan and the Firetail warps out in structure. Finally I turn on the Tristan, but I'm in serious trouble having lost my drones by then, my missiles on the verge of burning out and both ASBs in the reload cycle. It becomes a dps race and I'm a second away from one of the ASBs completing the reload when I pop with the Tristan also in structure. Afterwards I realize I made a couple of minor mistakes mainly in clipping the reps and running the last ASB unheated for several cycles. It would have made all the difference if I'd run it properly. Ah well, still a damn good fight.

Ended the night 52 kills for 3 Breacher losses.

Wednesday 5th November 2014

I log on early, conscious that Kourm is seeing a lot of activity from the Amarr and with them on Tier 4 and owning 62 out of 70 systems, it is a natural target for them that we need to stay on top of it. Plus obviously it is a really convenient place to get pew.

There are about 9 WTs in Kourm. I form fleet but don't push for people to join and am rewarded with nobody joining. It is a little early for FeO people, but Kourm was only on about 21% contested and didn't need anybody to panic.

So I decide to try and pick off a few solo. I go out in a Breacher and warp to a small plex. There I find a WT Tristan on the outside and about 7 other ships on short scan. The Tristan warps off before I can lock him, but not into the plex, leading me to think that the people inside could be friendly. There are about 25 ppl in local fairly evenly split between Amarr, Minmatar and neutrals. I do a scan to the medium and see another 7 or 8 people in that, this time all in cruisers. One group were WTs and one were friendlies. I decided to check the medium as I had a much better chance of crashing the warp in with Cruisers. Sure enough they are all friendly, Smile and Wave.

I return to the small and land on the same Tristan again. This time I tackle it and start killing him. I'm watching short scan, see it empty as they bounce out of the plex and I overheat my missiles. The Tristan pops just as a Tormentor lands, I tackle him, but then others land and I have to burn to range. I convo a smile and wave guy and request help on the outside of the small. They warp over and the Amarr bale, but I catch a Comet and we gank it down.

Smile and Wave loot the Comet wreak and warp off, in short order they leave system. I'm still looting the Tristan wreak and picking up his drones, when the Comet Pod comes back to the plex gate, I'm guessing he logged when his ship died, a tactic that some people do to save their pod. It didn't work this time, I catch and kill it, but it is empty.

The plex is empty, I enter to run it, but then find it has been completed. I scan to the medium and find the Amarr now running this and warp over. On the outside at range I find a WT Coercer. I burn out, tackle him and start to kill him, but then a WT Garmur lands at 70 from me. I try to warp off, but he long points me at around 60 kms. I resign myself to die and turn back to the Coercer. In short order I burn him down while tanking the Garmur. The WTs inside the plex are bouncing out again. A Corex lands 80 Kms away from me, I burn in, tackle and kill him. Then a Kestrel lands, again I burn over dragging my Garmur like a dog on a leash drags it's owner. Other WTs are landing, expecting to die, I try to burn the Kestrel down without bothering about my position and allow a Tormentor to get web and scram on me. I pop with the Kestrel in structure and then kick myself for being such a defeatist, I could have easily killed the Kestrel if I'd been more diligent about my positioning.

I ship into a Garmur of my own and return. A single Tormentor is running the plex. I land at range see this on short scan and decide to go in. But as I'm burning into the gate an SC Dramiel lands. I tackle it and start to kite. He is fast and I have to overheat my MWD one cycle to stay out of his range, but he is taking damage. Then the Garmur from before lands and long points me again. He completely ignores the Dramiel and the Dramiel doesn't bale either. In fact he backs off towards the other Garmur, leading me to believe that they are working together or at least friendly to one another. An Orthrus also lands, a pirate but known ex Amarr who continues to work with them. He is too far off initially and I assume he won't be able to catch up, but it is worrying. The other Garmur is faster than me, but we are doing no damage to each other outside of about 30 Kms, while inside that range I'm doing more damage to him and he is having to pull range again. Eventually I'm able to slip point or he gives up and I warp off.

I try to return to the plex a couple of minutes later with a similar result, then put the Garmur away and return to Huola.

Lory logs on, he is running an advertised blingy shield cruiser gang tonight and he starts to form fleet. He decides we will stay local to Kourm, drive the Amarr off and then gate camp the gate that gives while ninja running the plexes. As soon as we spike into system the WTs clear out.

We have a long and successful night. When I finally log, Kourm is on 1.3% contested and I've made 42 kills which include a Deimos, Phantasm, Omen Navy Issue, Onyx, Sabre, Brutix, Talos and 3 AFs for 2 Breacher losses.

Weekend 7th/8th/9th November 2013

The Amarr plexing effort seems to have peaked. We still own 8 system, 1 is still in danger of flipping but the other 7 are at, or close to stable. There is still plenty of fighting over the plexes, but it is more about the pew than system contestation.

I did take a small gang over to Bosboger to help with the deplexing effort there on the Saturday and a great day of pew was had. It was very small gang stuff and some great little fights were had, but I lost 3 Breachers and after returning to Huola for the 3rd time to reship, I decided to go back in my Worm. The Worm absolutely rocked, kill after kill I ended up top damage including 2 Vexors in one fight. Eventually I lost the Worm though, but fortunately, although we lost the field, the fight took place on a system gate and I was able to scoop the loot on my alt. To my delight the Faction Shield booster dropped for the second time. I later purchased 2 new Worms along with the necessary extra fittings and fitted both up.

One of the Breacher losses occurred during a gank of a WT Raven on the gate of an Amarr FW mission in Lulm. I say gank and 9 of us did eventually kill it, but it proved incredibly hard and killed 4 of our frigates before we finally took it down. He had a neut, long point, Target Painter, MJD and Precision Cruise Missiles which proved surprisingly effective. He was unlucky not to get out when he MJD'd out. But he wasn't aligned and I was able to burn out and catch him again before he could go to warp. Either that or he thought he had a chance and stayed to fight. Shortly after that I went down, but other were on him by then. 224M kill which more than covered our losses, but he ought to have been pleased with the fight he put up.

On Sunday I was running a large plex in Kourm, in a Breacher, when a Never Surrender Cruor came into me. It was the same pilot who's active tank Worm fit I'd copied. I got long point on him and settled into a 20km orbit. He webbed me down, but only knocked my speed down to about 1800Km and he still couldn't catch me being AB fit. He had a faction repper, plus an AAR and 2 faction Nos', there was no way I could break his tank. So I called for reinforcements, 4 others arrived and helped gank him down. Then he was b*tching in local about being blobbed. It never ceases to amaze me when people do that. It is alright for him to initiate a fight in a 173M Faction fit Pirate Frigate against a regular T1 frigate that has absolutely no chance of killing him. Then expects his opponent, without prior agreement, to honour a 1v1. I guess he would have called me a coward if said 1v1 had ended with me running away instead?

Later 6 or us ganked down a Covetor on the Kourm gate in Huola. He was a neutral with good sec status and we had to shoot and bounce, although one of us failed miserably and lost his Thrasher. Our victim offered a 20M ransom during the gank, then after, asked if he could buy his stuff back that dropped. He was carrying around 120M in T2 modules and Skillbooks. What was he thinking? He acted like a complete noob, but the char was an old one.

Ended the weekend 74 kills for 6 losses (Worm and 5 Breachers).

Tuesday 11th November 2014

I log on and note that Kourmonen is under a little bit of pressure for the first time in almost a week. I head over there in a Breacher, forming a fleet with my alt and advertising it as I go.

First stop is a Medium, I chase a WT Cormorant out, then move to a Small plex. I engage a WT Slicer, but two other WT Slicers pile in and I overheat my MWD to break point and get out. I return to the Medium while waiting for people to join fleet. The Cormorant returns and sits outside, then a Vagabond and a Caracal. The Cormorant leaves, the two cruisers enter, both neutral, I bale.

I decide to reship into a Garmur which I have in Kourmonen. About 8 people had joined fleet by then and were just piling into the system. The Medium is clear by the time we get there. We move to the Small and chase out the WTs then onto the Novice. A single Slicer is inside. I activate the gate and get point on. A friendly Merlin and a WT Merlin arrive. We primary the Merlin first and kill it. Next a WT Hookbill arrives, they are just feeding us kills, I can't help but smile. I tell the friendly Merlin to tackle the Hookbill while I stay on the Slicer. Any moment now about 6 friendlies are going to pile into the plex.

I'm not really paying attention to my position and the Hookbill gets me scrammed down. Initially I'm not too bothered, I have an ASB and am actually pleased that they are distracted by my bling, not watching local or short scan. There are only 3 WTs in system and one of them is in a pod, meanwhile there are at least 8 friendlies, any moment now...

The friendly Merlin pops and for the first time I'm a bit concerned. Enough to ask on comms "Where are you all?" I get the following responses.

"I'm in a dessie, can't get in the Novice."
"Me too."
"Just repping damage."
"Undocking, Huola."
"2 Jumps out."
"Back... What you need?"

So I lose a 300M faction fit Garmur and pod back to Huola, the only consolation was that the Amarr pilots involved were a decent bunch that I respected.

I reship into another Garmur to show that I'm not intimidated. This time I make sure of my backup as we arrive on the Small plex. There are 3 Dessies and a Jaguar inside. I figure I should be able to crash the warp in and leeroy in. Others follow. I do get to range but a friendly Slicer goes down. We kill the 3 dessies and the Jaguar bales.

Another Thrasher lands outside the plex, I bounce out and catch it. A Talwar and Coercer also arrive, but everyone is bouncing out and the Thrasher and Coercer both go down. I feel honour is satisfied and reship into a Breacher.

Dev was running an advertised fleet, the comp was T3s, primarily Proteus' with Guardian support. Initially I jump into a brick tanked Loki to provide the webs. I'm expecting there will be several pilots that don't have a T3 available and while that is the case, most of them can't fly Logi either. So I ended up in a Guard as Logi Commander. Around 18 are in fleet.

We do a tour of the warzone, several suitable gangs are sighted by scouts, so many that we dither over which is best to engage, conscious that another may 3rd party us. We head to Siseide, but the Amarr pull out 5 or more Armageddons among a 20 man gang and we blue ball.

So we head to Hadozeko, put the Guards in first with 3 DPS and jump through a 15 man Vexor gang into Resbroko, they follow and the rest of our gang join us. Initially, things are a bit tense, they target our tackle and then logi while we go for their Augoror Logi. Our reps hold, their first Augoror goes down. Then overview fills with a bunch of pirate Ishtars third partying the fight. Dev orders people to warp to station and dock up, but conscious that one or more is likely to be tackled, I order the logi to stay on field, approach gate and deaggress.

Thankfully the Ishtar were concentrating on the Vexor gang who in turn were trying to bale. We reach gate, confirm that everyone's aggro is down, jump back to Hadozeko and get safe. We didn't take a single loss, but only get 3 Augorors and an Exequror kill.

Scouts report the Amarr gang from Sisiede on their way over with a load of Armageddons in their comp. When the gate clears, Dev brings the rest of the fleet back into Hadozeko and we head out towards Egmar and Amamake with the Amarr BS gang a couple of jumps behind. However a second large Amarr gang is reported incoming from Kamela led by Predator Elite. He heads for Amamake to cut us off. So we dock up in Egmar and take a 20 minute break. Things have cleared by the time we get back and we make a run for Huola intending to stand down. Just as we dock up a report comes in of a Raven and Brutix in a large plex in Kourm. We go back in grab bag stuff, myself in a Orthrus that I'd purchased the previous day. We initially fail to catch the target and they warp to a safe, but someone scans them down and this time we tackle and kill both. After that we finally stand down.

I come back later and join a skirmishing fleet in Kourm, we get some good kills, but I'm really too tired to play and eventually derp the fleet against an 3 man gang (Armageddon, Ishtar and Brutix) on a large plex.

Ended the night 18 Kills for 2 losses.
