Same as the above posters, since Yosemite I'm having random freezes making the game unplayable at this time.

Exactly the same as people have described. Freezing, force quitting, disconnects etc.

I have since moved back to using unofficial wine and running the windows version on my 10.10 iMac.... Guess what, totally stable!! Annoying but just saying...

New player here

After initially getting the game I had zero problems, however in the past few days, I think after an update, I have been having intermittent freezing.. I might play for 2 hours with no issue, or it might freeze 3 times in the span of 20 minutes.

Screen freezes at first, but sound continues, then a few seconds later the sounds stops. my background is still "alive" but I cannot get EVE off the screen and am forced to to a hard reset.

Just FYI. Playing in windowed mode does not crash the client.

Since my last update in October I can say there has been no changes - no more freezes for me. I am sorry for the others though.

However one question remains - how come EVE client runs way better on WINE than the original one? As for the settings - I have them both at highest settings. Graphics on the original client is noticeably better looking - shaders, effects, colours, reflections - all of it just looks better than on WINE. But WINE version is much more smoother - no stuttering, delays, inactive or lagged UI - overall feeling is much better.

Is WINE client supposed to be a bit tuned down? And are they supposed to be different? Or is it just me and my setup SmileQuestion

Regards,

Quetz

I have found a fix that works for me, perhaps it will work for you as well. To fix the video freezing issue, I simply quit Google Chrome before running EVE, and I haven't had a single freeze since (before, they were every 10-15m).

Safari doesn't seem to cause the same issues for me, either.

I'm not entirely sure how CQ support would drag down the general performance of the Cider client, but that seems to be the difference: the Cider client can load it, the Windows version running under WINE can't.

Off the top of my head, perhaps the Cider client has more paranoid or conservative memory management to handle some dodgy asset loading and allocation in that one case, and it slows the whole thing down. But that's basically a blind guess.

Same issue as everyone else.

After installing the Rhea patch with all of the new graphical goodies, my iMac freezes every 10 or 20 seconds in game making it utterly unplayable.

I'm getting other things as well as bad graphics displays of the new map and windows filled with random crap or just bright yellow.

Anyone else suffering with this?

Same issue here, although I suspect it only occurs when there's a 'download-intensive' program running on another device in the house (i.e. Youtube on my iPad, streaming video through Apple TV). That being said, I have the Windows client running under the same environment without crashing (only stopping due to overheating in my Macbook but that's another problem) so it cannot be related to net traffic.

The sound & screen freezes for about 15-30sec, then continues as normal but an error mesage pops up asking to submit a bug report. I've been pushing the reports through since the Rhea update so let's see if CCP can resolve this (apparently common) issue.

I'm running Yosemite 10.10.1, late 2011 15in MBP

I think this is a cider 10.10 issue. I'm having occasionally disconnects in Guild Wars 2 (also uses cider). Still, the EVE crashing the last couples days (literally started happening a couple days ago for me) has been extremely abnormal (crashes about every 2-10 seconds regardless of graphics settings).

I'll let you know in a few hours when the client finishes downloading...

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Do not seem to have the issue on my Mid 2010 iMac but I have it on my mid 2011 MacBook Air. 5-10 minutes maybe and it hangs. Have to force quit the application. Can't do anything at the moment.

Started to collect hard logs. Will post when I have some for the Devs

Something improved. OS X 10.9.5 + EVE has been amazingly stable on my Mac Book Air (fan pumps sometime, duh). Keep up the stable OS X builds!
