Constantly freezing up

I'm bumping this to hopefully get a dev to respond. This morning I logged in and disconnected/locked up about 5 times in under 10 minutes. Same issue as before - random disconnect, losing contact with the server. My internet connection stays stable as far as i can tell.

Does anyone have either the name or IP address of the CCP server? I'd like to run pings on it while playing to see if latency is an issue.

Again - CCP - we may not be the bulk of your subscriber base, but I'd like to think we could get a little login' here. This is seriously impacting our gameplay and trying our patience.

Also randomly freezing. I've been staying docked more often, and the freezes just happen, even while in the background. The EVE interface is unresponsive, the screen is locked (no ship light blinking, flashing tabs are frozen mid-flash), but EVE can be command-tabbed to and from with no issues. Command-Q and the close window button do not work. The sound appears to continue to run unimpeded, menus are displayed and usable (although they produce no results), right-clicking the EVE icon in the dock provides the normal menu, so I don't think any systems are detecting this as a freeze or a crash.

I've been having similar issues. On my primary client I've had it freeze up quite often and always inconveniently, no warning just stops accepting any inputs and screen freezes. I then have to force quit. Until I do so, my character remains logged in.

I have also had my client silently CTD every several minutes while docked up.

On my secondary clients (made with the client clone tool) I have not noticed any problems. The only settings difference is the window size.

Yesterday I've only had one freeze up. Odd thing is it happened when I was afk docked in the station.

I can't even stay logged in long enough to file a petition without the client freezing up. Shocked

No actual methodology to the freeze/crashes. Will happen when I log on and walk away from client while docked. Almost guaranteed to happen when I open the market window. While in space after I've spinned the angle of my ship view. In full screen and non-full screen.

Basically, I give up lol The game is currently unplayable.

For what it's worth the issue seems to occur less if you never, ever switch to another application while running EVE. Once you launch the EVE .app you should not focus any other window at all.

In any case the game is completely unplayable and the lack of dev response (yes even though it was a weekend) clearly shows how much they care. This issue is ****ing critical.

Just drop the Mac client if you don't feel like supporting it properly.

Having noticed that my cloned clients didn't have any problems, I cloned another client, duplicated and renamed the folder in application support, and I've had no freezing/CTD problems. So that workaround seems to work. Why? I haven't the foggiest idea.

Hi all, I can't agree with you more that this issue is very important, to you and to me and by extension, CCP. There will be an update tomorrow with fixes to some of the issues you are all experiencing. If you are still experiencing this after Tuesday downtime, please reply in this thread and together we can get this fixed.

I haven't experienced this yet and I work on my mac everyday and without experiencing it, It's difficult to get it fixed and make sure it's been fixed.

So in the short term some more information about this bug would really help me:

1) Are you playing in windowed mode?
2) Are you playing in fullscreen and CMD + Tab'ing?
3) What is the specification of your machine?
4) What version of OS X are you using?

Lastly if some of you could make bug reports with cider logs, it would help me greatly.

My crashes have been:
1) Fullscreen only, never windowed.
2) Not while CMD-Tabbing.
3) On a Mac Mini, 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2gb DDR3 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 9400 256 MB
4) Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2 (11C74)

Strangely enough, the number of crashes I experience has dropped dramatically over the weekened for no obvious reason. Did you patch something?

1) Windowed Mode
2) Happened when the client had focus as much as otherwise
3) MBP 2.2Ghz Core 2 Duo, 4GB Ram GeForce 8600M GT
4) 10.6.8

All my (now 3) cloned clients (through the clonemaker app) have had 0 stability issues, including the one that's linked to a simple copy of the Eve Online folder in application support.

And sorry, but no logs because Cider doesn't seem to produce them for this (as in, there's no file where I'm told to look for logs). I really, really wish I could help there.

4) Lion (10.7.2)

The screen freezes, sometimes when i cmd+tab in, sometimes when i warp, today when a friend logged.. can control the mouse but nothing else, cannot cmd+tab back out etc.. the only solution is cmd+option+esc to forcequit

The new patch (including the new client update) seemed to be pretty stable for a while, but then it froze again.

Also the login screen takes 100% CPU, becomes normal when in game.

Same issue here, still running on Leopard though. Constant freeze-ups that have started to occur since Crucible, and yesterday's patch made it even worse.

1) No, fullscreen
2) Yes
3) Macbook Pro (2009) 2x 2,53Ghz / 4GB RAM / Geforce 9400M
4) Leopard (10.5.8)

I have this issue as well.

2 clients running in windowed mode.

My experience however is that the freezing happens when there is quite a lot of network traffic.
Yesterday I had only 1 freeze in about two hours of playing in 2 clients. I made sure I had almost no network traffic. (In other words, no upload / download).
On Monday I did have some more network traffic and both my clients were freezing up very frequently. When I stopped the network traffic, the lockups were gone.

yesterday was fine … and freeze again this morning. I'm very disappointed.

Edit : has become unplayable one more time : 3 freeze since the DT patch, and I had no other network traffic…
just sent you a cider crash log

3) 17 in Macbook Pro can't be bothered to look up the specs
4) 10.6.7 Snow Leopard

How can I kill ice miners if I freeze after hitting fire but before Concord shows up? Also this literally makes the game unplayable.

I didnt notice this freeze untill i used the clonemaker, are any of you using multiple clients? If you wait long enough does the client eventually crash?
