Amazing Rubicon experience when your game freezes right in the moment when you land in a ghost site. With the slow new launcher after restarting game the site is gone!

Apparently the freeze bug has spread to PCs.

The symbolic link connection is now viewed as a red herring, as you will see if you read the entire thread. Also there are some instructions in it for what to do to help CCP sort out the issue.

User Interface
Fixed an UI rendering crash issue with certain video cards.

In the december 12th patch.... fingers crossed they squished the bug.

Last night, after that patch, I had a freeze. I also had in-game logging running and sent the file to CCP Snorlax.

Edit: it now appears that freeze was caused by the logging process itself. Apparently it has a memory leak. It also was not a classic freeze. The client displayed an exception notice first. Ive been able to recreate that bug. Just turn on logging in the monitor window, have it save to disk, and play for 2 to 3 hours.

So I have not had a classic freeze in quite awhile.

certain programs cause freezing issue while playing eve. I experienced freezing only if my torrent application is on. Other than that, there is no freezing. For your information.

Random freezes here also. My iMac:

Processor 3,5 GHz Intel Core i7
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4096 MB
OS X 10.9 (13A603)

It's not freezing that much when applications such as browser and torrent aren't running, but still it freezes sometimes even without them.

Same as everyone else around here. Running iMac with 24GB/ i7 / 3.4GHz / NVIDIA GTX 680MX 2MB. It seems random, but happens frequently. I'm running "windowed" so when it does freeze, I can "force quit" the application. If I run full screen I need to reboot.

I have found a solution that stops all freezing for me. I was freezing up multiple times a session and I have now gone weeks without a single freeze.

After disabling EVE Voice (under Audio & Chat) I no longer freeze up.

I made this change when Rubicon was released and I was unsure what was the solution to the issue. As a test I re-enabled EVE voice and I started freezing again.

I'm trying this at the moment and I have not had a crash since. (Yet or...)

Did you completely freeze up and had to force quit or did you just lag out for a brief time? Freezing and lagging may not be caused by the same issue.

Lag out for a brief few seconds. Actually, the freezing side of things I haven't encountered I just have the lots of lagging now which I haven't been able to solve at all.

Glad to hear you are no longer freezing, so lagging out might be another issue completely.

For others, if you are freezing disable EVE Voice and report back your experience.

Earlier today I got serious lagging of my wallet and the market, followed by a freeze that required me to restart my computer. I'd only been running EVE for a half hour or so. After restarting, I was able to run two clients for several hours with no problem.

I chalked it up to one of the many leaks and stray pointers that make life with the Mac client truly interesting.
