Constantly freezing up

I will add my experience here.

Torrent software should be closed as reported above.

Adobe Flash should also be closed/blocked (if you are using Chrome, you can disable the Flash Plugin via chrome://plugins). Actually, all adobe softwares should be avoided

CCP has offered his hand in Apple-Adobe war. LoL

But frankly speaking, this can only reduce the frequency of getting frozen, but not an ultimate solution.

I am getting this issue constantly, dual boxing or single boxing. I can reboot the computer, open nothing but eve (with all startup items disabled except critical system startup items) and it will still lock/freeze, regardless of what i do/say/poke at. I can sit in station, in space, or do 100 missions.... it will still lock up randomly, and frequently.

Why is there no action on this by the Devs? Give us a "Hey, we are working on a solution, we know you guys aren't crazy"... give us SOMETHING. We are paying YOU GUYS to play this game, not the other way around. Never have I been this ignored by a customer service organization. I have also never seen an issue go this far, and this long, with so little interaction. Are you guys scared of this issue or something?

Wake up and post already. There is no reason at all, unless you are cheating us out of our money by selling us a faulty product, that you would not address this as an issue. I don't appreciate being sold a faulty product, and being told its a perfectly working product.

They just said at EVE Vegas that they don't have anyone on the Mac client: with the occasional exception, they throw the Windows client over the wall to Transgaming, and ship whatever Transgaming throws back.

The latest variation I'm getting are random, hard 10-15 second freezes that stop everything, including sound on Mumble, then reset the screen to wherever the server has put me. They make wormhole life even more thrilling, especially when I'm flying logi.

You will forgive me not taking your word for this? I want to hear from CCP. I want them to actually step up, and admit that this is an issue. I want them to point the finger at the REAL problem (their client), and say "we will fix it". I don't care who they hire, or push this issue to... i just want to know that the product I am buying isn't a lie.

I think i had this problem for a year now, so i decided to make a clean install with the new Maverick system, i played good amount of 2 hours, and my client just crashed, next crash was after less amount of time.
I really thought it was some fault with my system, but after a clean install it cannot be my fault.

Can a dev PLEASE comment on this, as i'm playing with 3 accounts, and i'm starting to get annoyed with the crash and open all the time. i played since 2003 and its just the past year i had problem.

My last freeze was Tuesday, after the 1.2 patch. It happened while I was arriving at a stargate, while firefox was opening a set of tabs. Actually a typical time for me to get a freeze. Its always tempting fate to be doing anything internet related when you are running Eve.

Then 2 nights ago I was out exploring and the game froze, then the computer went to my log-in screen; for logging into the computer, not the game. I logged in, restarted the game, and seconds later it froze again. (Typical freeze this time). But since then its been fine.

So I didn't take the time to read back from where I left but I'm pretty sure no intervention has been made CCP side...

Just thought I'd take a look here since my client effectively crashed 3 times in a matter of 15 minutes, even with every other app closed.

Good thing I only play on mac when I'm not at home because this is definitely a dealbreaker.

Thanks for posting those. Unfortunately, that's a lot of low settings, which means either that the cause of the leak/freeze is some particularly obscure settings cocktail, or that there are so many of them that you practically have to turn the game off to avoid them all.

How sad, seeing CCP being back at its old habits, putting fingers in ears while singing tralalal, I can't heeeeear you!

Still, if it fixes the issue it does give a workaround, and may help in finding the issue, assuming anyone is still looking...

I have found that "Shadows Disabled" appears to be the most important setting.

First thing I did was turn everything on low because of the rediculusly poor performance even on a GT650m.

It seems to happen less for Ati cards, but heres the performance I get after turning Shader to low and disabled shadows:

MONUMENTAL performance difference. I haven't reproduced the lockup yet, with these settings.

Hey look, page 28.

Is there some sort of threshold we need to meet before CCP does something about this?

Obviously time isn't a factor, since we've surpassed the 2-year anniversary of this issue.

So, yeah, I would say the Mac client is unsupported.

I had this problem now and it's now been reoccurring much worse. Lost a Crow due to client contently freezing up while engaging a ship. Also this isn't the first time I've had a loss due to this.

Isn't there even a single solution to this problem after this mega thread which has been made?
