Constantly freezing up

I am still having this problem, but from what my corpies tell me, what appears to be happening is that the UI is locking up, but I am still connected to the game. I don't warp off until I actually force-quit the client.

To the dude running Transmission:

That's a torrent client isn't it? I know if I run VUZE, another client, I'll have a crash in a little while.

So that's the problem.

When I >HAD< to D/l a torrent, I set up my macbook and used that instead.

The first step to do when you get these lockups is quit any and all applications that access the internet, except eve.

Torrents.
Web browsers.
Mail programs.

ALL of it.

I've been advised to clear the cashe using terminal but I get this error message:

rm: EVE Online/: No such file or directory

I have reinstalled the client four times now and it doesn't make any difference. It seems to be saving my graphics settings though, when I do a new install the window size and graphics levels are identical to the previous client I used.

If anyone has any idea how to fix this please let me know, its pretty disgraceful that this is happening to mac users.

I also get freezes with my Mid 2012 Macbook Pro running on OSX Lion.

From what I saw it definitely is triggered by something on the network, wether its a youtube video, a torrent client or something else.
I get a freeze every 10 minutes or so with a torrent client launched, rarely happens without it though.

It worked for me for a few hours after a cold reboot and a repair tool, but it's borked again.

Once, to update skills I went to a cybercafe and paid $1 to log in and update my skills. Yeah, PITA I know.

I can get it to freeze easily. I managed to find a way around it however.

so, 1.5 year anniversary is coming up. We should definitely do some little gathering or something, when this bug reaches 2 years.

I'm pretty sure CCP gave up on mac client by now. I filed close to 10 petitions about this issue and still zero response.

I have noticed especially when warping to a POS that the client freezes up so badly that my entire system is locked up. The only way to get working again is to press and hold the power button till everything shuts off and redo. I hate shutting my computer down this way, but its the only way to get access to my system again. Has anyone else been having severe freezing frequently like this?

To be honest...to me its a moment of shame when other companies like Blizzard can write and code a native OSX client and CCP can't. I mean eve is a great game and CCP has developed it pretty well to survive 10 years, but they still lack the basics of developing a client for unix. Sorry CCP, but until you do I consider Blizzard a superior company to you. Prove me wrong and develop one already. I don't enjoy having to run windows on my mac to play eve. >.>

I can confirm that running Transmission (torrent App) at the same time as EVE causes EVE to hang every few minutes. I'll dig deeper for some diagnostics if I can.
