10 year Vet Stations

My character is almost of the required age, and despite this I think this station is a horrible idea that serves no purpose at all other than idiotic cheatbeating.

But, to all the guys that desperately want this station: why don't you simply create one? Capture or build a station in Null, allow access to all characters that are old enough.
There, problem solved, content created.

In my day you had to mount cruise launcher on a Kessy, no of this bomber shiz. You kids never had it so good.

I vote that we should have an entire system dedicated to the Vets. And all the old tricks are allowed. mmmh double mwd...

That would require us to leave all our current alliances and form the Old Coot Alliance. Which people would scream was OP because everyone would be, at the very least, above 150m sp.Imagine if everyone in your alliance could not only fly titans, but probably build their own just because they accumulated that much crap over 10 years of Eve.

Vet station was a stupid idea, I'm glad CCP is looking into other ways to acknowledge older players.

Was any relevant announcement made at Fanfest? CCP Falcon said there would be in this thread, but I missed that panel.

So we were told some sort of vet reward instead of this would be discussed at Fanfest, did that happen?

You need to set the bar higher than 150m sp to keep out the 7 or 8 year old players. CCP could extend the concept with a reward for reaching puberty, etc.

I think it would be more interesting if there were a small constellation where only 10 year vets could get through the stargates.

I don't see a point in rewarding a ten-year vet with an exclusive-access station if all you can do in a station right now is ship spin and look at a pretty background while your avatar is still stuck in a garage-size quarter with a door that failed to open since 2011.

Rumour has it the 10 year vet station has a stripper pole for the exotic dancers.

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

So does the non stop PvP, but you don't see a single goon complain about that.

Here's a thought, ten year toons get some sleeve tattoos. Not quite the same as station, but still something that makes us stand out a bit.

I wonder how many more days this thread is staying on page #1 of GD because this is over already, for the sake of development time this is already decided and locked in.


pfft... imagine another CQ box room released and have an absolute shitstorm about it for months on forums... CCP made a good call to turn this project to something beneficial for every player. WiS is later, after done with serious space ship business.
