So do your duty and keep them away from EVE and/or supervise them while they're playing so they don't get exposed to the unrated content mentioned on the box…

Fat girls know better than to jump on cheescake. They just eat it instead. Roll

The fact that everything that is needed is already provided, and is done so without arbitrarily and stupidly limiting what adults care to share with each other.
“Think of the children” is just short for “I can't think about my children”.

Thanks Tippia but i already read your post and modified it to fit my Amarr race. Gread post btw. Bookmarked it.

And yes i certanly will keep my nephs away from this game. But seriousely. You want those people in your game?

I'm no parent but i have many nephews and i wouldn't want them to see such stuff. Why you have to counter every good will ?
Is it a bad thing to prevent Sickos from posting **** like that? Whats next? Execution gifs? Snuff gifs? If thats allowed and people enjoy posting that , do you really want those people in your community?

yes i want them in my community because it encourages parents to actually parent their children. perhaps you should supervise your nephews when they play eve. (i assume they have their own account since you wouldn't break the eula by sharing your account would you?)

if you don't want to see gifs, don't click a link that ends in .gif. not difficult.

Report the gif to CCP. Posting sick/gross stuff in local is bad form and will likely be dealt with by handing out bans or warnings. Public channels are not the same as private ones like Fleet/Corp/Alliance/private channels where most stuff is tolerated.

No, you're not saving anybody from anything.

Small kids aren't allowed to play without their parents watching
If small kids play without their parents watching, then the issue is already there anyway
and parental control won't help you save that kid from anything.

What you are asking for is one more thing to remove responsibility from the parents,
which is a bad thing, because it teaches current and future parents even further,
that there is no need to take responsibility, because "state/game/big brother" (fit whatever) does it anyway.

The real issue isn't the kid looking at that stuff. The issue is the parent
letting it look at that stuff. It's a kid.

But wait, there's more !

The kid, as it's getting hand-held by the "state/game/big brother" has no understanding of self responsibility.
Kids who get watched and saved from everything have *no* clue how reality really works and just need
being watched and being saved later on too, because they have never learned how to do it.

If you want to help save children, then teach them how to think for themselves,
instead of having somebody else thinking for them.

Thank you. I will remember that for the next time. I didn't know there is a rule against that and moste of the previous posts lead me to the thought that this is encouraged. I will report those people next time. You can count on that. And im glad CCP, as you say, doesn't want thi kind of behavior.

Because small childs may click on it.

then blame the parents for letting a small child play a game where such activities are encouraged.
you can't legislate for stupid. or bad parenting.

Or don't allow it in the first place to prevent kids seeing it. You won't miss any ingame content. Or just ban people posting such a crap. That would be an appropriate answer.

"C. Children

(1) Responsibility for Account

Minor children may not establish an Account without the consent of a parent or guardian. If the user of EVE is a minor, a parent or guardian must complete the registration process to establish an Account, in which case the parent or guardian takes full responsibility for all obligations under the EULA and for all activities of the child using the Account. If you are a parent or guardian, you may permit one child to use the Account instead of you (in which case you may not use that Account).

If you establish an Account, you represent that you are an adult thirteen (13) years of age or older and are either accepting the EULA on behalf of yourself or on behalf of your child, in which latter case you agree to the EULA with regard to your child and represent that you are also personally bound by the EULA."

And

D. Inappropriate Conduct / Communication.

"CCP may establish Rules of Conduct (discussed below) for players accessing the System and may, but is not obligated to, monitor and take action regarding inappropriate conduct. Nonetheless, it is possible that at any time there may be language or other material accessible on or through the System that you may consider inappropriate or offensive to some users. You acknowledge that other players may transmit communications or content, or access to content, that you may consider inappropriate or objectionable. CCP does not, as a matter of policy, prescreen the communications or content transmitted by each player and is in no way responsible for the communications and content transmitted by players of the Game."

And what you are saying is basically let the kids learn it the hard way. You cannot have every parent controll every kid. That will never happen. So CCP has to take measures too.

Instead we should ban all linking of .gif, because that makes so much more sense.

For hundreds of years people have learned the hard way and we didn't go extinct.
The hard way often is the way that teaches the most. You are totally overreacting because of some random
gif some random guy posted ... and the real question should be what your actual issue is,
because you're not rational at all.

Life is hard. You're too soft. Modern times made people soft, lazy, arrogant, decadent.
Worthless piles of trash.

It's *none* of your business how other people perceive these .gifs. None. Nada. Null.
Just because *you* believe it's inappropriate doesn't mean *everybody* else does.
You do not set the standard. Your perception and interpretation of said pictures doesn't either.

You are advocating censorship. We are advocating that people start thinking for themselves again.

Stop making yourself a target ... thanks ...

i'm bothered by you thinking censoring things that don't need censoring is a good, and productive, idea.

No, what he's saying is let the parents learn the hard way. If the parents can't control their kids, then they should uninstall EVE and cancel the accounts they established for their children.

CCP does not have to take any measures at all. They certainly don't have to break game components just because some people are doing inappropriate things (viz. letting their kids play an unrated game unsupervised, when that game explicitly warns that all kinds of content may show up).

Again, “think of the children” is perhaps the laziest and dishonest excuse imaginable for needlessly breaking stuff that work perfectly.

I know that excuse pretty well,. And i hate the censorship in that regard : Remove blood from videogames or don't even allow shooter games because people might go crazy.
But if you show real life content of cruelty in a game.....in my oppinion that goes to far. You can slaughter pixels all day any day. But if you show real life footage that doesn't belong to the game in a game?

I'm pretty baffled that you don't understand this. Maybe the "I'm in EvE and everything is allowed here" has swapped over to your real life conciousness? And if that is the fact you may go to a psychologist.

Real Life and Video Games are different things.
