Hi CCP REYKJAVIK, ICELAND,

I am concerned by this game and the environmental and ecology impact on the world.
If you wish, on eve, by the mechanics, you can stay connected 24H/24H
Here is some little numbers.
500'000 subscribers numbers found here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eve_Online
If we take 10% of away from keayboard Player's
1 PC low Graphics = 300 Watts.
Take it on 23H and 7days
300x23x7= 48'300 Watts / week
48'300x50'000= 2'415'000'000 Watts / week
That is what the game provides on the environment with the away from keyboard and ghost campers that you leave on.
I am really concerned by this. It is a lots of power used for nothing.
Iceland is a known country for ecology and environment considerations.
A little link that i like http://www.icelandair.us/information/about-icelandair/environmental-policy/
If you take examples on other game. If you stay away from keyboard for x time (about 15 to 30 minutes) server kick's you.
And if your computer is configured with good settings it will go in standby.
Could you tell me your concerns on this ?

Servers in the UK

We care diddly squit for the enviroment

In fact I know the servers are fueled on the tears of pandas, sea ice creatures who no longer have ice and PETA supporters.

1.21 gigawatts?!

Also, you're off by at least two orders of magnitude (not to mention using the wrong unit).

My computer can run for months at a time on nothing but the dew of a single Ginko leaf and the energy of the universe.

You make a valid point, good Sir or Madam.

Good point. Also, the energy need of EVE-playing computers is about 80×80m worth of solar radiation.

If you send me any amount of spare wattage, I'll double it.

Nobody in their right mind has taken this climate thing seriously in years. The warming has ended, natural adjustment mechanics are in place, time to find a new doomsay.

You can save the environment OP by stopping to breath. You are emitting so much hot air we should charge you for carbon emissions.

And yes I am a Global Warm....er...."Climate Change" denier.

That's mainly because coal is not clean.

It's a band-aid on an already existing infrastructure, better than nothing for now.

You make a valid point, good Sir or Madam.
