I don't fly caldari, but the Phoenix has got to be the most expensive ugly ship in the game. I think it needs a make over.

edit: But then the Vexor looks like a flying blow-dryer or glue-gun, so I guess there's precedent for ships shaped like household items.

Yes, I know. There are lots of other things that need to be fixed with eve......

And this is relatively a minor issue. But I was curious on the eve communities input on what ships should be redesigned.

I personally think that the Osprey and Dominix hull would be a good place to start.

What do you guys think?

the Domi is endearing... I think the shape is unique and worthy of staying the way it is.

the domi is an awesome looking ship. as is the vexor hull. gall and amarr are fine for the most part.

gall-side, the celestis hull is horrible and needs serious changing. hyperion looks horrible. then the imicus. rest is cool imo.

minnies - the cane and rifter are probably the only decent-looking hulls, the rest are abysmal. i could never get myself to fly minnie ships due to their poor aesthetics

cal - i like the moa hull. scorp and rokh are sexy. raven is disgusting, and the rest are kinda average.

Going on the lore of the game, wasn't the Dominix a ramming ship as its original intention?

The Moa will always hold a special place for me. Once I was able to ~advance~ from my Merlin to the Moa, hearing those unique engines told me I was moving up to bigger and better things. Of course, this was during a gaming world where seeing a battleship meant someone was deadly, powerful, and rich!

Personally, I rather see the ships retain their original designed shape and just get detailed here and there. Subtly work launchers into the mix if such a ship is known for being that type (like the Raven). Perhaps review the in-game data and size ships closer to the numbers. A Megathron looks large while a Rokh looks small next to it.

Lore? nope it was interation of a carrier once. Cept back then they had larger crews and more drones, lots more drones.

honestly, while many ships LOOK wonderful, when you zoom up to them they tend to get sorta... polygonny.... basically keeping the same ship but adding deatail to reduce zoomed-in blockiness of the ship (or at elast puting curves where curves should be instead of octagons (im looking at you Harbinger engines)) but that is the extent of the changes that really matter right now.



also, can we get a jack-o-lantern head for all harbinger's with fire coming out of the eyes and mouth,a nd the rest of the body jet-black next halloween?

i eman solely aesthetic, totally free, all ahrbingers in the game are temporarily reskinned...

I personaly dont think it looks like a battleship at all. it especially dosnt look like one that shoots missiles.

Bellicose - It just looks too damn stupid, like an old fashioned milkmaid with a bucket yoke. Honestly, people avoid flying it simply because of the look.
Hurricane - controversial I know, but the raggedy planked front end and the wee little snap-off looking fins need a change, they spoil an otherwise perfect ship.
Griffin/Kitsune - jets pointing directly opposite each other? Come on!
Hoarder - sorry, it resembles a headlouse. If you've ever had nits you can't bear to even look at this ship.

Some ships look great. Some ships could use some love.
To be honest, I like all of the caldari ships, and thats all i fly. Ok, the golem would be like 100x better if it had the black and red paintjob instead of the brown and orange. But I like the asymmetrical designs the caldari have. To be honest, I was really disappointed with the scorpion re-design, I thought the old one looked different, and cool. Now it (uncreatively) just looks like a scorpion.

The domi could use some love.
The bellicose could use some beefing up. (its a tube with solar panels)
Somebody forgot to finish the aeon (seriously, its the only ugly supercarrier)
