I have always thought the pod model in the CQ is too small. It is in essence a fully functioning space craft so power, propulsion, and FTL all need to fit within. There should also be a separate room for entering / exiting the life support section of the pod. That is were you would shower and there would be a locker equipped with a standard array of cloths or whatever you request upon docking. If the pod is actually bigger like i imagine it would be then there could be facilities within the pod for showering and changing.

As for life support within the pod i would imagine either a system of connectors similar to what you see in Matrix along the pilots back that would handle nutrition and oxygen or the fluid itself is life sustaining.

The Pod seems small to me too. Apparently a warp drive doesn't need much room - who knew?

Also, I'm pretty sure that in the novels pilots are described taking showers to wash off residual pod goo.

Gah, nanites are not scifi speak for "magic". They're a materials science, not clothing teleportation.

Maybe the devs are going with there being a small cargo compartment on the side of the pod and they just gloss over the whole decanting, showering and getting dressed process as being A) undignified and B) a needless waste of time.

My personal explanation would be that capsuleers have limited clothing options - namely the stuff that's available at character select and from the NeX store - and that when you dock your quarters deliver a freshly laundered set of your specified clothing to you to go with the complimentary Quafe.

That's why it's so expensiveP

You arn't paying for the clothes but for a galaxy-wide clothing service.

Remember when EVE was a bit more grim-dark and capsuleers looked like this? Back in those days, you couldn't be immortal and pretty at the same time.

Of course the look had to be changed when capsuleers somehow lost the ability to do everything they needed from within their ships about two or three years ago.

Watch_ Fred Fred Frederation_ and stop cryptozoologist! Fight against the brutal genocide of fictional creatures across New Eden! Is that a metaphor? Probably not, but the fru-fru- people will sure love it!

I'm pretty sure that was from a Capsuleer terrorizing a planet with a projected image.

I sell combat boosters of every strength and type. Message me to get your edge.

The only reason the pod is able to be so small is that the Jovians designed it; they are well beyond any of the rest of the empires, technologically, so it can be expected that they are more adept at compressing the design. In addition, I don't think the Jovians think much of comfort; they're very practical: the hydrostatic fluid is purely functional, meant to keep the occupant aliive Big smile

This is confirmed in the lore as a projected image that bears no resemblance to the capsuleer's actual appearance.

Dumbing down of Eve Online will result in it's destruction...
