EULA Exploit?

I only petition death threats, because profanity laced tears of impotent rage are what helps fuel the New Order. But I also never cuss or even blasphem anyone's religious icon, nor post links to porn. Not because they are against the EULA, but because they are not befitting a gentleman. That said, you don't want to be the nail the ban hammer pounds, don't violate the EULA. Don't bot, don't macro, don't post porn, don't threaten to kill people IRL over some blown up pixels.

Eve chat is so perverse that I would not allow my children to play until they're old enough that they don't have to do what I say any more. Why just a couple of days ago I got to learn about forced copulation of an opening normally excretory in nature in an Eve mail. Even if the average age of an Eve player is over 18, they aren't all adults and I'm glad there is at least some check on totally obscene behavior that could constitute a threatening environment for some players.

So carry on EULA, continue to keep Eve chat/mail's head just above the cesspool instead of in it.

I agree the EULA does good... Dont get me wrong. But like the forums... have a chat filter for those people. I can understand banning for links. But for a few cuss words? Please...

You don't really have a leg to stand on here. If you break the rules by posting **** in local, you deserve what ever ban you get. I mean, do you honestly expect people whom you just ganked too fight fair?

Now, the null sec fad of using spies too report people in the enemy fleet for posting fleet porn...

That's just WRONG :(.

According to your logic on swearing ... infiltrating alliances is fair game. Shadow Cartel knows all about that :)

And I personally didn't get banned... People who I enjoy fighting and flying with are getting banned for a few cuss words in local. Again... most MMO's have chat filters for these ppl who can't handle language. Add one case closed.

Links are a whole other story... Should probably keep those out of local. I will agree with that. People cuss everywhere. Whether it be in public when you're walking in a store or what have you. What are you gonna do to them? Report them to the police for having a potty mouth?

Comparing Apples and oranges here.

swearing in public isn't against the rules -for this, read against the law (well, not where I live, unless you're going for a breach of the peace charge).

Swearing in a chat channel, is against the rules -for this, read against the EULA.

Simple solution: stop talking in local. If your verbal diarrhea is getting you in trouble, put a cork in it.

That goes for the forums too. Get out.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

"Profanity is the strongest expression of a weak mind." - Mark Twain, or maybe Confucius. Nietzsche?

Anyway, learn to trash talk without resorting to the use of profane/racist/homophobic/misogynistic/etc., language. You will be pleasantly surprised at the results. At a minimum, taking the higher road implicitly makes your opponent look like an immature twit to be pitied instead of reviled while making you look like a cultured, talented, elitist snob, which invokes tears and rage in its own right.

tl;dr - Try trash talking with a British accent.

edit: However, if your opponent is actually British, then it's likely that you have been horribly (and publicly) humiliated before you even realize it.

edit2: F'ing Brits.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

iTT: People confused that CCP enforces the rules they imposed on the game they created.

It's really not that hard: If you break the rules, and you get caught, you get punished. That's how real life works. Never confuse your character's activities (robbing an alliance blind within the allowed game mechanics) with your own actions (broadcasting porn links in a chat channel that might just have someone underage in it).

And for the HTFU crowd - CCP can't support itself on just your subs. So HTFU and realize you're not the only scrubs playing the game. Act like you've been out in public before, ffs.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

I could care less about what is written in local or what links are put in because:

-I have the choice to read or not to read it

-I have the choice to click or not to click

And even after if something displeases me I can answer or block that player, corporation or alliance with a single click.

I'm saying this as an adult, parent.
If I don't want my kids to read crap I don't give them crap
If I don't want them to click internet links I just control how and what they do.

It's a matter of personal responsibility, education and maturity. But in this game just like in any other game you can't ask everyone to be responsible of his acts his sayings or his choices and you can't avoid the inevitable faceless internet anonymous nerds just because they can try to harm you in some meaningful way.
This reminds me some alliance making part of mine at some point that were the greatest local bad posting, gay links, direct insults and what not, since then things changed and standings reset, guess what, since they can't so anything against us playing this game every single occasion they can we get guys ban for the exact same reasons OP shown.

Doesn't matter how much my game will evolve, I've find the right people to play with sharing more or less the same objectives but I do know for sure also there are many many true yellow/cowards/pussies/anonymous freaks that will try to use anything they can just to have the self satisfaction of doing something meaningful of their life.

I just block them and move on, if I'm ban I'm ban, the day I'll get tired of I'll give my money to someone else with no regrets whatsoever because of pixels and a bunch of stupid nerds.

I'm gonna take a stab here that the OP has no understanding what crude language is acceptable and what crude language is not. AKA we're not getting the whole story of posting goatsie links in local or using racist/homophobic language in local.

I can't recall a time anyone got banned for shittalking in local complete with F-bombs and whatnot.
but corpies sure got gagged and banned for gay porn links in local and calling people the N-word

point is , there's a line, know where it is and don't cross it

Agreed

It falls under the heading of "Just because you can doesn't mean you should."
